Our stock tires have a stock OD of 27". The DRs I have are a 26" OD on a 17x10.5" tire. It's the 275/40-17. They are the shorter tire, and I only use them for the track. The 265/40-18 that I suggested before is a 26.5" (27") OD and will be as close as you can get to stock OD. It will only be off about 1 mph on your speedo, which is about all the more accurate the stock tires/speedo are from Ford.

I dont know that he cares as much about the speedo as the look. look at his car, he likes a sleeper. he wants it to look stock and kill vettes and cobra's. and it does. what brand is the tire your talking about grabber. sounds about as close as he can get.

well like you i have the 275 40 17 mickeys, they are noticeably shorter then my 235 17s that came on the car stock. i would think the 265s would be even shorter? I dont know, tires annoy me. mickeys will dead hook for you though 07.......at the track, i wouldnt want to drive around on them though, they suck on the road due to the soft sidewall and the other day i got caught in the rain comeing home, wow, was doing 45 and litterally just touched the gas and the back end started to come out. wicked slick, must have hit some oil in the road or something, it had been raining for a while to it didnt just start.

Rim diameter affects tire diameter, regardless of width and aspect ratio. a 255/40-17 will be shorter than a 255/40-18, because tires are measured from the beads, not by diameter. The size of the hole in the middle doesn't matter (insert "yo mamma" joke here). And DRs are REDICULOUSLY slippery when wet...Almost lost my ass as well trying to pass someone during a rain shower.

The Math

OK heres the math everytime u go 2 sizes wider ,u go one size shorter , 235-55-18 u go to 275-45-18 to keep ur height the same or withn .5 inch\\in\anything u want to be .2-.9 inch higher in the back ,never in the front 8.5 inch wheel is perfect for 275 , hot tires right now , summer ultra high perf. is the new YOKAHAMA S-DRIVE THE 275-40-18 ARE 11.2 INCHES WIDE.
