Fastlane in Houston?? Dropped car off today
I dropped my car off today at Fastlane in Houston to get the plugs changed and get it retuned. Has anyone used them before? They seem like some nice people but I would like to hear if anyone has had any dealings with them.

Does it really matter what we say, considering they already have your car? Probably something you should have done BEFORE you gave them your car.

I know but......it was a spur of the moment thing since I have to be in Houston for work and I was going there to get some new plugs. I talked to the guy and told him how the car was driving like crap and he recommended the Brisk plugs. He told me he could get it driving better so I said what the hell and left it there. The thing that scares me is they charge a flat rate of $250 an hour for dyno tuning and it took the other tuner 13 hours to get it driving like it did. I guess we will see when I get the car back tomorrow or Wednesday.

He said how much time it called for? Flat rate could be a good deal for you, as its a paid 2 hour job and it ends up taking 8, you still only pay for two. They look pretty reputable, got some real fast cars on their site...

nope he just said for every hour on the dyno is $250....and they have some fast ass cars in there parking lot...I seen 4 twin turbo Mustang GT's, 1 twin turbo Ford GT, some turbo SRT 8 Chargers, a turbo Trailblazer SS that runs 10.8 @ 130, as well as 5 GT 500's waiting on various things.

I've not dealt with them myself, but have had people recommend Fastlane, and Dyno Joe. My last tuner said they had "issues" with the Brisk plugs and didn't recommend them anymore. I didn't ask what problems they had and he didn't elaborate. I just used the HTO's again.

I have also heard of problems with the Brisk plugs but these guys swear by them....They said that is all they use on all there 3v cars unless they pull the heads off....They also redo the spark plug holes to except a GSXR 1300 Hyabusa plug...

I DO NOT RECOMEND FAST LANE!
yea sure they know their shit but when the push comes to shuv all they want is to take your money, if you tell them you want a fast car they will purposefully put he most expensive shit they can find so they can charge you more, they will screw you over if your not carefull so beware. if you are in the houston area I recomend houston performance steve drier has been in the business for years and years, all my friends go to him. hes a great guy to deal with with a great business running fastlane= looks, money and thats about it houston performance= old school know how from a guy who works soley on mustangs and know what the f*** hes doing (however if you want to be wowed, take a drive through fastlanes parking lot, all the rich bitches go there so they got all kinds of ridiculous shit) fastlane will take your money! |

Strickly Performance has been recommended by someone that uses them. Spoke to them briefly. They are reportefly experts with turbochargers and that obviously appeals. If I was in Houston, I believe I would check SP first.

Fastlane is retuning the car...I went to Houston Performance but they were busy but did manage to get the car on the dyno and made 1 pull and let off at 5K because the A/F was at a constant 13.5 to 1........I did the PCV Delete and took a 90 mm Lightning Mass Air out of the intake tract so I was expecting it to be off a little but not that much.
