Performance or Looks?

Guys i have enough money to either get a SCT with custom tunes or set of rims and tires? Right now i have the 17" machined premuim wheels.
I do not plan on taking her to the track or racing but want the feel of a little more zoom/zoom. I have an auto also.
So what should it be at this time? Performance or Looks?

A tuner with tunes will be a lot less than wheels and tires. You could get a CAI and tuner and gears for the price of wheels.

cai and tune....that's S197 101 lol. Then do the rims and tires if you want. You will enjoy the intake and tune a lot more, plus it helps for when you put the heavier wheels on. The auto is A LOT more fun with a tune

I am a huge proponent of the Go before Show mods, based on how much money you're looking to drop...I think you'll be disappointed in the quality of wheels you'd be getting. As said, the CAI and tuner will be at least half to 1/3 the cost of a good set of wheels and tires. Get the CAI and some 4.10s and you will have as much Go mods as you'll need for a little while.

That all being said, nothing has transformed the look of my car more than new wheels.

New tires and wheels might be a good compromize. From the day I bought this thing I poopoo'd CAI as a first mod because right off the floor the car had enough to turn the tires over easily. I got wider rims and 255's and there was still not enough grip down low. Finally with the drag radials the grip was fantastic, but it bogged the engine down too. Then came the 4.10's. And the smile they provide is still fresh everytime time I hammer it.

I agree with animal. Get the rims and rubber. You'll extract more out of the stock car, and you'll seperate yourself from all the other stock mustangs on the road. After that, I would do a gears, and then a cold air intake. Whatever the case, you need more contact patch right now, and it only gets worse with mods.

Check the classifieds on here and other sites for used wheels, if you want to go that route. Sometimes there are some deals on wheels & tires, especially take- offs.
