Anyone running an oversized throttle body by Granatelli motor sports?

It costs about $400 and its supposed to add 11 peak HP and 22 mid range HP, but I wanted to get some opinions on it. Worth the money? Also, anyone heard of the Plasma Booster, spark amplifier?

Not worth it man. The Granatelli ones are supposed to be the worst ones.

Get gears instead.

Plasma Booster's work real well in Torok "The Dinosaur Hunter" but that's about it ... unless you are pumping some serious boost the stock system will be more then adequate.

what are you trying to accomplish if i might ask? you just want some modifiations? You have a tune/cai and ud's now. there is a lot you can do. shifter, gears, exhuast work. Also you could lower the car. all of those things would be noticeable and cheap mods that you would enjoy a lot.

Im aware of the possibilities, I just dont want to do serious mods till the warranty is up. All the mods I have now are easily reversable back to stock. I was just wondering about those products. Thanks for the help though, nice video too!

I'll try to find the dyno #'s, but with the GT500 throttle body (which is light years better than the one you are talking about), N/A applications gained 1-2 HP. NOT worth it!

The stock throttle body is good even in F/I twin screw applications to 12 psi and 500 hp. So for you, just stick with the stock one. I gained alot going with a black diamond throttle body that flows 1600 cfm, but I also run 16psi, and at that point the stock TB was a restriction.

Same with the factory COP's. I know of several cars running over 500rwhp with the stock COP's. Once again, since I will run C16 at the track with 16psi, I went with some GMS coil packs (2nd gen) and they work very well.

No, JE pistons, Scat Rods, Cobra crank, cobra block. Stock heads and cams though.

OK, I assumed you weren't giving it that much boost on a stock block.

If you're worried about the warranty then don't do any mods. If you're going to start modding, then forget about warranty.

Hands down – you cannot go wrong. We just did one for MM&FF and it made 9hp and 20ft/lbs on a Hertz rental Shelby. Auto trans cars seem to pick up more torque then manual trans cars.

I think you have this backwards. BBK had issues and Granatelli did not. When we offered a billet version we sold about 4000 units with very little issues. But yes there were a few that had idle problems – it had to do with the drive by wire throttle plunger adjustment. We figure out the issue and never had the problem again.

I agree and we offer those as well

I agree with the idea psfracer pushes but by the same token stock applications can also benefit from the GT500 t-body upgrade and the Coil On Plug upgrades – perhaps not as much as a 500 F/I car but still the gains are the same by percentage
