I'd like to know too since right now I'm using one of those FM transmitter/charger things now and I get static sometimes. I here the 07s will have a direct line port to the head unit over in the glove compartment.
I like leaving my iPod sit in the front cupholder so I can get to it easy to change songs if I want.

i think that the aux button doesnt do anything. I think that they made it for use at a later date, but i looked at an 07 when i went to the dealer and the deck is different than my 06. becuase they added sat. radio which btw ford did a good job of hiding the antenna for it. but the guy said still no ipod hook up. but salesmen are pretty stupid!

Yeah, they can be stupid, but what I heard about the iPod hook up was that it was going to be late in the 07 production so maybe they aren't out yet. If I was buying an 07 and that option was available, I would definitely jump on it since using an iPod definitely beats making an mp3 CD.

I read on other forums that there is this new thing called Trip Tunes that hooks up to the aux in 05-06 Stangs. It is a box that you can hide in your glove box that has hookups for MP3 players, satellite receivers, etc. I believe it is on www.fordaccessories.com. Hope this helps. Supposedly you can use the aux button and you won't have to use a FM transmitter.

The aux button on '07s will cycle through 3 "sat" groups, so you can have 18 preset stations on the Sirius radio. It also cycles through a "Line In' setting. There is a jack inside the center console that you can plug an MP-3 player into. It just takes a cable from your headphone jack to this jack. You can't control the ipod through the Shaker head unit, but you can play it through the factory stereo this way.

Yeah it was present surprise when I was trying to figure out what the hell the little whole in the center consol did. The 07 shaker configuration is a very nice system for being the base.

This is what the AUX button is for Ipod Interface that plug's into the bottom of the ipod and allows you to control your ipod through the stock Radio

I had checked that system out from Perpheral before and the only thing I didn't like about it is that if you have and 05 or 06 stang with out the Satellite inputs then when you hook this thing up it actually uses the CD input and the CD button to activate the iPod. So you lose the capability to play CDs. I still like to pop a CD in every now and then especially if I only borrowed it so I want to keep that capability.

So I guess the only way to find this out is to Pull the unit out to check and see if it has Sat inputs on it? Hmmm that kinda sucks, especially if you can't alternate from Cd to Ipod..

I just purchased an 07. In the center console is a jack for your IPod or any other MP3 player or XM. You just need a double ended 2.5mm or 3.5mm (not sure on size) cable. You plug in your player and push the aux button. You can't control your IPod or anything else from the factory deck, only the volume.

The Peripheral IPOD adapter works great with the Shaker 500. You can control your IPOD through the stock radio, and it evens charges your IPOD while you are driving. It is some what slow scrolling through your music, but it's worth the $100 bucks or so. I would unhook it though when you are leaving your car unattended for a decent period of time (1-2 weeks). I never had battery/electrical problems in my 06 until I installed it, and now it's been to the dealer to have the battery replaced. Nothing saying for sure that is what did it, but I have my suspicions. :wink If you aren't in the market for an aftermarket radio, then the peripheral is you best bet IMO.

yup, my AUX is used for my IPOD PIE Aux Adaptor, it works great, I just push the button and play my IPOD tunes direct from my ipod.

i bought my kit from Crutchfield for $100, best investment made!
