Cool

modifying seats(front) 06 gt

i don't know if anybody else feels this, but ever since i got my 06 gt 2 yrs ago..i always felt the seats were never that supportive,in fact sliding around in them felt the norm ,i drive my brothers 03 cobra and his seat keeps you in place..anyone know of any fixes? i have had a g-lock on my seatbelt for a couple of years now and it is helpful, but you have to have the belt cinched real tight to feel good about taking a corner fast..i imagine i could replace the seats, but it seems fairly$$...it kind of p,m,off that ford could't make the seats better..

I have Corbeau seats for sale. The CR1 is high $300's. Plus you would need the seat brackets. $80 each. PM me if you would like a price. This is your best bet to keep your butt in the seat.

the 03-04 cobra's have inserts in the seats. that's a big help in keeping you planted. with us just having leather we easily slide everywhere. go to a reputable shop and see about getting youself some microfiber inserts put in your stock seat covers. it will look badass and will keep you in place better.

if you wanted to be pretty subtle you could add a little padding when you had the covers off and have them make the centers a bit wider to make up for it. that would help it to keep your arse in place a bit better. you would have to make sure you used the correct stuff though. i'd go to a good interior place and have them do both. now that i think of it that's a damn good idea. how many people would ever notice you put extra support in your stock seats without riding in them or even if they did ride in them. unless they owned one they probably wouldn't

Yes, it's a safety device meant to make you more part of the vehicle to reduce impact force on your body.

As for the seat bolsters part... the Bullitt and GT500 have seat bolsters that were supposed to address this issue. Wish Ford would make more of their upgrades available for aftermarket....

And I concur with Juco. I fit my seat AOK.

My seat sits fine but my wife's passenger seat sits way too low for her to see out comfortably. I wish there was an easy way to raise her seat up 1"or so.

that's just a matter of taking it out and getting some spacers and longer bolts. should have opted for the power passenger seat also.

yeh i do have the leather seats,,i guess the cloth would probably prevent some sliding..but again the seats need some bolstering..i am considering going to a good seat upolsterer and see if he can suggest anything..i think i'll also consider the aftermarket seats as well..as for my size i guess i am average 5'10 200lbs..it's just the side to side movement that bugs me..other than that,,i love my car
