no i meant that from a marketing standpoint not engineering. if ford is trying to sell a 6.2 they need to make sure there is a BIG increase over the 4.6 not 350 vs 400hp for 5000$
i dont see the 4.6 gt rated over 325 max |

I do...and I see the 6.2 being amazing. There are no definates. In fact, the 6.2 won't even be available in 2010. That motor will be available in 2011. So... we got some time. I just know that 6.2L is > 4.6, regardless of rated power. THERE'S NO REPLACMENT FOR DISCPLACMENT. Unless they wanna turbo a 4.6. Then we found ourselves a nice little replacment.

i don't see the 6.2 beating out the cobra power wise. why would they make an optional motor for the GT that would out power the cobra. although anyone with a brain would buy the 6.2 long before any 5.4 supercharged anyday even if it were detuned so it would have less power. i think the base gt would still be around 300-325 and the 6.2 would be close to 400. if there still is a cobra it will always the the higher hp car.

i agree. if they did go to a 6.2, it will be the cobra motor not the gt motor. if it is the gt motor (or even an option) then the cobra will be supercharged or something along those lines

The Boss engine is a forthcoming all new large-displacement V8 engine project at Ford Motor Company. The engine project was reportedly canceled in 2005 as the company focused on its existing Modular V8 and V10, but was reportedly revived in early 2006 by Mark Fields. The large engine will compete with DaimlerChrysler's 6.1 L and larger Hemi engines and General Motors' 6.2 L Vortec engine. The Boss V8 is being built at Romeo Engine in Romeo, Michigan.
The Boss engine will reportedly displace 6.2 L (6207 cc/379 in³) and produce roughly 425 hp (317 kW) and 425 lb·ft (576 N·m) upon introduction. The engine architecture will offer the ability to exceed 7.0 L in future applications. Reports indicate the Boss will retain several design similarities with the Modular V8 such as deep skirt block with cross bolted main caps, crankshaft driven gerotor oil pump, and overhead camshaft valve train arrangement.

i would rather have the TTv6 if they're coming out with 2 v6's and 2 v8's. for about 3 grand that thing should be running 11's no problem.
