FRPP NSR Hot Rod cams

Has anyone here checked into these new GT cams from Ford FRPP?
They have that classic 60's muscle car sound.

Here is a clip I came upon...

All joking aside... I have those cams, and you can watch my video here -

I'm installing a new H-pipe, cat back pipes and axle-back this weekend (hopefully) and it should sound a bit more menacing

Good luck man, these things are hard to come by. If anything, RAD Mustangs can hook you up with a set of Comp Cams Thumpers!

They sound incredible. Mine are on the way and I am hoping to get them put in next week. I have a few questions for you.

1. Did you do cam phasers limiters or lockouts?
2. Did you get a canned tune with them or did you have it dyno-tuned?
3. What is your idle set at?
4. Anything else I should know?

Thanks.

Yea, after thinking about it, I am going to talk to him about getting a custom grind. I won't really benefit from those as much than if I went and got a custom grind for my set up.

1. No
2. I'm running a Bama tune specifically for these cams. He's tuned a few cars that have them. I will be getting a custom dyno tune one of these days...
3. 750/750
4. Yes, be prepared to talk to a lot of people on the street about how you made your Mustang sound so good

I did some checking around and emailed buyfordracing.com to see if they carry them. They are not showing them on their web site but I did get a reply from them today. "We have them in stock. The price is $750 plus freight. Thank you."

Pricey things arn't they!

I bought FRPP Stingers from them for 399.00. I was hoping the price for the cams would be lower but, I guess being a new 2008 FRPP item, it might take a while for the price to come down.

Hmmmm.... Do they sound like the FRPP cams? Not that sound is everything of course. Performance is what really counts but if you can get both, why not?

Whats the performance difference between the custom grind comp cams from radmustangs and just the plain comp nsr cams that 07stanggt has? I know you get the frpp hot rod cam sound, but does that come at the expense of performance?

Nobody really knows until myself, or one of the other like 10 people in the world, dyno our car.

There is for sure a performance increase, especially up high. This cam isn't just for sound.

I've been trying to get on the dyno with mine. Its hard to find time when my buddies shop schedule jives with mine. I can tell you with a good tune you can really feel the difference. My buddie with a stock GT said it felt like the difference between a V6 and V8. A really good tuner could get a lot out of these cams on a dyno, I think the trick is going to be getting the VCT tuned so it makes good low end and good top end power. I have a 400 RWHP Vette and people tell me the mustang sounds better so sound wise these cams kick ass.
