Another night at the track!!

Well I made another trip to HMP last night and I had a bit of a scare. My first run resulted in a lot of tire spin and a 2.49 60ft. Ended up a 9.79. After that, the next two runs I shaved 2 tenths off the 60 but the ET was slower and so was the trap speed. Then the scary part... on the 4th run the car was down on power through all gears. Almost the same feeling you get with a clogged converter. It also wouldn't engine brake on downshifts. The Rpms would just hang. Well after leeting the car cool and going down to the store to get some 93oct, it started to straighten out a little bit. 5th run 2.21 60 ft. and a 9.52 at 74mph. 6th run of the night I'm finally getting used to launching with a stick!!!

Reaction .0180
60ft. 2.026
330 5.900
1/8 et 9.134
mph 76

Anybody know what might have been going on with the car causing it to act like that?

Oh and by the way, the car is completely stock still with child seat, spare tire, my 210lb. ass and the stock mastercraft lsr touring radials at 30psi!!!

Next time drop your tire press on the rear to about 24psi and not to make ya feel stupid but did you take the traction control off?

Yah, the tcs was off. The car felt like it was at about 50% of normal the whole way down the track. Thought I was about to win a complimentary trip to the stealership. Luckily she came back around. Anyone heard of maybe the electronic throttle doing this?

Does the computer pull timing or anything like that as a result of high IAT's, etc?

NV I only saw two other s197s out there. One redfire on a 75 shot with bolt ons, and a black one with a few less bolt ons. There was a silver there earlier but he never tech'd in.

I have 100% zero mods on the car. I am hoping that once I get a CAI and tune on it that it will cure the lagging electronic throttle.

On my last run I was racing a 440 GTX. He got a little over excited and red lit. But I tell you he needed it!! I cut that .018 light and he only beat me by about 2 1/2 after he red lit!!

Will these cars hold up to regular drag strip time? I plan on running it about 2 times a month, and probably about 5 runs on those nights. I still have an 84 Corvette sitting at the house waiting on the 383 thats in the garage.

I ran a 13.04 in the 1/4 stock (All stock, no mods, stock pirellis) with my tires aired down to 17 psi leaving the line at about 3100 RPM's with a little clutch slip. Its all about your 60 foot when your car is stock. Bring your 60 foot down your 1/8th or 1/4 will come down significantly.

I wonder if that could be the answer - he was looking for a cause of power loss after hotlapping it seems. I know a significant amount of timing was pulled in my Lightning when IAT2's reached 130 or above. Just trying to help...
