nitrous guys.

Okay... turns out i was only putting 85 horse and 130 foot pounds to my rear wheels on my 100 shot setting. (because my tune is so conservative) So I upped my shot to 150 to give me around 120 to my wheels...this was done with the help of Ken at Ny-Trex.

My qusetion is are there pooling issues with these intake manifolds at this level of nitrous induction...I was told by a tuner i was crazy to go so big a shot cause the nitrous will pool due to the design of the intake and i will backfire and blow it off the car??? Anyone out there running a 150 shot ?

Why not step up in smaller increments, Ken, say go to a 125 shot, then the 150?

I wouldnt woory about it to much unless your spraying below 3K rpms as thats were puddling starts to happen. If your really worried about it you could just increase the rpm setting on your window switch to around 3200-3400 rpm to be extra careful.

I was told by the owner of C&L that anything higher than 125 shot would put me at the risk of a manifold backfire ie (pooling). Not to say I know everything but that guy I'm sure know's what he is talkin about. His explanation made a lot of sense.

Its not an issue with the horse power amount. It's about the amount of fuel your introducing into an EFI intake manifold which was NEVER designed to have fuel run through it. I was told that typically a 100 shot is about as much fuel as you'd want to introduce into that and anything more than that puts the risk of too much fuel that could possibly settle into the low spots of the manifold. Our manifolds start high go low than go back high again, that portion of the low spot is where the danger of a wet shot of nitrous has for furl settling. Carb manifolds dont have that issue cuz they start at the top and never reach a low spot it goes directly to the heads. Dry shot kits dont have to worry cuz they're not introducing fuel, they're just not ideal for street applications is all.

Going up to 150 shot you will also HAVE to upgrade to larger fuel pump and matbe injecters

you could get the steeda cmcv delete plates that are billet and have the ports in it for nitrous. Put a fogger on it and ur 100 or 150 shot will hit alot harder i am thinking about doing it.

I talked to my tuner today about a 150 shot and he said the only thing I could do to run it safely was PRAY haha! He's a great tuner but he says it will melt the plugs after 4-5 runs and it might break something (probably one of the pencil thin rods).

Pump maybe, but the wet kits have no effect on the injectors. You can run a 400 wet shot and never change injectors. I think 150 is fine but like was mentioned before, don't spray too low and definatly don't try to power shift to stay in the spray.
