If you have the shaker then at the bottom of your door you will have subwoofers. Thats for the shaker 500. If its the shaker 1000 then you will have an additional subwoofer in the trunk.
So with the shaker 500, there will be 4 door speakers/subs and two speakers in the back seat area.

ok well with just alittle google time i figured it out .. metra makes the right harness which comes with ALL the right plugs that allows you to keep all of your shaker speakers anywho for those of yall who like me got your stangs with an aftermarket stereo with the wrong harness or put one in with the wrong harness they sell the sub adapter seprate part number 70-5522 from what ive read tho the sub kinda suck so after i get em hooked up and see how they sound i might end up changing them so ill let yall know what my opinon on it is

a little off topic.. but how hard would it be to install a 500 or 1000 in a car without either? or would I be better off just redoing it aftermarket?

I'd put in aftermarket if I didn't have the 500 or 1000. I have the 1000 and its plenty. I don't even go over half the volume. Gets crazy loud

I have the 500 and even that slams pretty hard. I was surprised coming from a honda with a full after market system.

This is a new one... Mustang people trying to put more weight in their vehicles. Most want to take it out.

haha, the only reason I still have the Shaker 1000 is because it adds 30 lbs to the back the car
