Dropped car off at trans shop
This morning I dropped my car off at a trans shop due to an issue of missing 2nd gear on the drag strip. It's fine on the street. I told them I'd get some of the parts myself so I know what is going into it. The list of things I'd like to get myself are:
RAM throwout bearing 26t input shaft Clutch/flywheel better synchros I think for the clutch I'm going with a Spec stage I and probably an aluminum flywheel. Does anybody know where to get the other parts? I am not planning in going FI in the near future so I don't need to handle 600 HP, just want something reliable for the strip. Promotion sells the 26 spline input shaft and better synchros. I am about to send them my trans and get the 26 spline input shaft, upgraded synchros, and all gears will be face hardened.

I just called Pro Motion. They won't sell you parts without paying for the install labor rate. There has to be some place that will just sell parts.

Well, I just ordered the Spec Stage I clutch from American Muscle and the RAM slave cylinder from Lethal. I think I'm going to keep the 10t input shaft unless they find a problem with it when they remove it and I'll have the stock flywheel resurfaced. I'm not planning on going FI any time soon so it should be fine.
Hopefully I'll be back in the 12's when this is all said and done. |
