New to Xcal3 Some questions...

Hey Fellas, im waiting for doug to get back to me on a few of these questions but i figured i would see what you guys think/know

So I installed my bamachips 89 perf. tune... the radiator fan seems to always be on high now even after short trips, i think it has something to do with the xcal3 settins as i was scrolling through them i noticed that the low fan setting is 192*F and the high fan setting is 198*F.

i did not change any of these options such as spark, global spark, WOT air/fuel i left them all at 0, so basically i didnt touch any options just looked through them then back to install tune. now im thinking that it is actually using those options presented to me such as the temp settings and the spark and all that.

now here is where i am confused if look through those settings did i actually overwrite the bamachips tune with Global Spark: 0 and WOT air/fuel: 0% and such? i was thinking that the tune includes what it needs and ignores everything im looking at such as the xcal3 options that would be set to 0, i know it sounds ocnfusing but thats the only way i can word it.

i have since change the tune back to stock till i can figure out the fan issue.

There shouldn't be a fan issue, if the AC is on then the high speed fan runs. If you left all the settings like they were then what ever was in Doug's tune is still as he sent it to you. Those adjustments allow you to either add or subtract from the tune before you install it in the car. If you just looked through them then they are un-changed. The high speed fan staying on is not a bad thing unless it does it when you turn the car off and it just stays running. I would reinstall and enjoy.

if the global spark is zero the car wouldn't get out of it's own way, you would have no throttle response and the car would accelerate like a 5 mile long train. you didn't change anything.

ok good i can rest easy.. "the adjustments add or subtract from the tune" <----thats what i wanted to know thanx for the reply, i do think the fan setting on the xcal may be making the fan turn on too early though any of you guys know the factory settins for the fan temp 192 and 198 on high sound a bit low ? i know the fan thing isnt much of a problem but its something that the car didnt do stock imean i can hear the fan buzzing over my car like its going to take off everytime im at a stop light.

ok, so about the fan issue, doug said its ok it just keeps my car cooler but my car is mostly stock and i dont want to run my fans life out

so the xcal3 stock setting is 192 low fan 198 high fan
i changed these to 196 low fan and 202 high fan

the fan is no longer running on high at stoplights so it seems ok... these settings are safe right, i only went up 4 degrees and my car doesnt overhead anyway... what do you guys think?

the fans running are just a little extra security, anytime you start modding these cars to make them go faster, you make sacrifises, such as heat.

I would have Doug fix it for you so whenever you load the tune it is there.

i left it at low: 198* High: 204* seems about right (Sounds Good?), again my car is mostly stock not going too crazy so i figure i dont need the JET FAN effect all the time lol... Doug told me this is normal with his tunes keeps the car cooler, but i really could do without the loud fan (also preserving its longetivity) for now since im not modded much.

Nah I would look kind of silly getting out of my car at a stop light or sign to look at the fan.

Now those settings are at what temperture to turn on right?
