2006 GT atx Check engine light- Evap smog system-software

Just returned from the dealer to have the CEL diagnosed on 2006 GT ATX. Turns out the computer is setting a code for Evaporative system fault...but there isn't any problem with the system. All diagnostic tests came back - no faults. The dealer said Ford is aware that this is happening and form the moment.. have no solution other than to turn off the check engine light and send the cu8stomer on his way. Telling him there isn't a problem and it may not re-occur.!
Anybody else experienced this??????
I had no drivability issues and MPG did not change a bit.

what code # did it throw? it's not unheard of for ford to later come out and have to upgrade the computer, but did the code occur from day1? did it return after they cleared the code? any recent mods?

Didn't read the code.
Practically brand new at 1500 miles. No Mods. Its been two weeks and no recurrance so far.

I haven't had a code yet on my 05,but on my 99 vette,i had an EVAP code and it turned out to be the gas cap..

Yeah, The first thing I did was check the cap, it seemed fine. Was definitely tight. The dealer ran all the tests including the cap. Nothing was flagged as leaking or malfunctioning. They had a note from Ford that said they were aware that this was happenining in the field but didn't have a fix"; software or otherwise.

Nope. Ford has not published any official action other than "document it, do evap system integrety checks and reset computer"
