93 octane tune
I filled up with premium yesterday (93 Octane) and up loaded the 93 octane tune from Brenspeed. I had about 30 miles worth of 87 left in the tank. When I really push her up high the engine pings a bit. Will it take anothe tank full of 93 to get rid of this since I had some 87 left in it? If not I am switching back to the 87 tune because so far I am not noticing a huge difference between the two except for the annoying ping up high, and since most of my morning commute is spent going 80 ish in a 50 down shifting and passing people on a back 2 lane road I hate hearing the pinging when I am used to the normal engine music.

when you fill your car with a different octane rating, you want to be very close to 1-3 miles to empty, not 30.

I had the same question as you and was worried about getting too low on gas before filling up with higher. I was worried that I would start sucking gunk out of the tank if I got too low.
Changing the tune on mine and filling up with 93 fixed not only my ping but also my stuttering popping upon deceleration. I have no plans to switch my tune back down to 87 again until I take my next 12 hour road trip. The difference in MPG and $0.20 a gallon isnt enough to stay off the 93

I am still not sure if I like the 93 tune yet. The car feels less high strung more relaxed. i kind of liked the high strung nature I had before it is just sneaky fast now nothing really noticeable. I am going to give it a couple tank fulls and then try either the 89 tune or go back to the 87 tune. we'll see I'll post more...

What is the difference in the 87-89-93 perf tunes besides the octane? Is the power different in different RPM ranges if it felt more high strung at 87?
