side window scoop install/ medalions~Ohio mustang supply

What is the proper prep work needed b4 installing these side scoops?

Do ya just wash her up good or do ya have to clean the surface with anything special 1st, to get a good bond?

I was thinking of getting these from cervini's (the Mach look) but found these others on ebay, then decided to still go for the look by getting these medalions from Ohio Mustang Supply. Whatta guys and gals think?

I used a little dawn dish washing soap as that will remove any wax. & then used a little Windex. Mine are still on solid after 19 months.

The second set of scoops pictured look like the 3D Carbon quarter windows that I just installed. I was actually able to purchase for $213 painted and shipped from the paintdropshop on ebay just a few weeks ago. The 3D scoops are normally $200 unpainted so you did get a good deal.

Since you purchased used, just make sure to wash with a degreasing soap, rinse, dry, follow with 74% isopropyl alcohol, and finish with 3M adhesion promoter on the surfaces that you will be bonding the 3M tape to (was included with the scoops when new...not sure where to purchase).

Here are a few pics of what they will look like installed...

Round pillar emblems

I bought the round pillar emblems from Ohio Mustang about a week ago. I like them as I am going for the retro look. So far everyone who has seen them like the look as well. Ohio Mustang gave great service I say go for it.

When I put my GT500 spoiler on I just wiped the deck lid with isopropal (sp?) alcohol.

yeah those are the same ones, 3D Carbon..i want to paint the inside black, since you'll be able to see that from inside the car...

Dawn dish soap, then alcohol, (adhesion promoter, i assume like a auto zone should have that, right?)

I used limo tint on the windows so you cant see the back side of the scoops

The new ones come with pre-cut vinyl black-out decals. You can go buy some cheap vinyl and make your own template or you can buy these...

Classic Design Concepts Quarter Window Blackouts

The adhesion promoter should be available at any parts store. It comes in a stick/ marker form with the side scoops but should come as a packaged applicator sponge from the store. Here is what it will look like...

SpaceAgePaint - 3M Automotive Adhesion Promoter Sponge Applicator Packet
