Clay Bar

Is any brand just fine? I've never clay barred any of my cars before, figured I would try it out.

From what I've read, it sounds like it scratches the car, but the sound is just the stuck on dirt, and crap being taken off right?

Anyone able to explain how to apply it really quick for me?

make sure you keep the area lubed with quick wax... meguires makes a great kit..

NEVER DROP IT.

wash the car well... then, spray some wax... NO PRESSURE, glide with the fingers across the surface... knead your wax ever 50 passes.. and Yes, I count... I'm a detailer....

3m makes a GREAT swirl mark remover...

Don't forget to apply wax after you finish. Claying will remove EVERYTHING down to the clear coat. Yes, this does include your wax.

Like was said, keep the area well lubricated. If you ever drop the clay on the ground, throw it away even if doesn't look like there's dirt on it. Youtube will yield lots of results.

Just checked out youtube, thanks for the suggestion on looking there.

I've just got one last question. About how much of the car can I go over with just one bar? Keep in mind the cars never been through it before so I'm assuming there'll be a good bit of crap stuck on, although visually I can't see much.

You should be able to use just one and use it again. They can be used over and over again and take a decent amount of time before they are too dirty for paint. Once they get dirty enough, I retire them to wheels and glass.
