air to liquid vs air to air intercooler
which kind of intercooler works better with a supercharger, air to liquid, or air to air?

For drag racing Air to Water, because you can add ice to kill heat soak and you can keep the AIT's more consistant. On a road coarse, Air to Air because you constantly have air moving over the intercooler and don't have to worry as much about heat soak issues. Also, air to air is lighter and more simple. You don't have to worry about your IC pump dying half way around the coarse.
That said, in a perfect world, Air to Water would be the best over all if you could keep the coolant from getting heat soak because Air to Water transfers heat more effeicantly. |
