anybody running paxton or vortech w/o intercooler
I found a really good deal locally for a new paxton 1200sl kit thats non intercooled and am probably going to buy it, but first i have some questions.
What kind of rwhp? what 1/4 mile times? how hard/easy was the install? are you using a diablo or sct to tune with? I will be running it till february before adding a custom air/water intercooler on it. ambient temp in Oklahoma will not be above high 80's between the time its installed and then so any person trying to make this post about why i should wait until i get the intercooler is wasting their time. only mods on my car are steeda intake w/elbow and tuner. I already own an xcal3 and will be using it to have a custom tune made instead of using the canned tune on the diablo that comes with it. |

low 12's... maybe high 11's... 370-380 hp
easy to install with basic tools either with work edit: that hp number is conservative... more supporting mods (meth injection).... ported heads, wider cams, the new C&L intake manifold could boost those number 20-30 hp w/o adding boost. Last edited by qwik48r; August 25th, 2008 at 10:42 PM. |

its okay to stare... he doesnt bite. and I'm not that big of a dumbass. as stated, they are conservative, and I tried to include things that you wouldnt need to up the boost for to gain power.... such as cams, ported heads, and a c&l intake manifold. lt's will net 20+ on a f/i motor... I'm assuming you'll be running around 8-9 lbs. tried to head the cows off at the pass man

you'll be running 93 anyway... with probably 3* pulled at 3000 and maxing incrementally too 6-8* up to redline.

* = degrees of timing or lbs of boost? and i read your edit. i was trying to say that you gave me exactly what i was looking for by not giving me some race tune numbers and that i agreed with those mods for what i plan. |

its all gravy in the navy
and yes, * is degrees pulled. you MIGHT be able to get by with 91 with 6* and 12* |

with as hard as it is to find 93 here i will probably add a meth kit with it then. i have all the stuff for that already from my merkur xr4ti road racing days, just had planned on selling it to one of subarus.

yea so have a street tune (I'm assuming its either a DD or drivin on sundays) with lots of timing pulled (or minimal on the low rpm tables for torque, and higher amount pulled on the top end to keep safe)
and a dedicated 93 tune... make sure your meth kit is FOOL proof so you can run as much timing as possible.. if not, your looking at kr out the ass and maybe some nasty knock if it fails in the middle of a high throttle rant. |

It is my DD so i thank you for you answers. I would hate to kill the motor and have to drive my other vehicle, 06 Merc Mountaineer V6 AWD. After buying the Mustang I just hate being in that thing.
