What do I do if I put stripes on over the bumper that used to have a license plate?

I took my front license plate off about a year ago. Of course there are two small holes from where it was drilled in. They're a little rough. I figured I could just file them completely flat so they're not rough/standing out at all from the bumper itself, and then just lay the stripe over it as if it was never there.

Would that be a wise choice, or could a problem come from it?

not i dont think there would be a problem, i got my car the same way, stripe went right over the holes.. but of course since i live in CA the cops made me drill back into it to put on a front license plate.

I live in Long Beach, We're supposed to keep the front plate on too, but after I got my c6, and I had never put the front plate on myself, I figured since the cops never bother me about that then they'll probably never bug me about the mustang with no front plate.

Cop at a red light even talked to me and said he liked how it sounded. I did one time have some asshole undercover cop stop me right in front of my house not get out of his car pull up in front of me and shine his light in my eyes. All he said was "where are your front plates? I'm going to have to give you a ticket for that"

He proceeded to tell me to pull over in front of my house, and then floored it down the street. Leaving me and everyone outside(neighbors) wondering what the hell was wrong with that cop.

Nope, full uniform. There were about 10 cop cars and a lot of cops searching little kids and anyone that was walking by within a 3 block radius of my house for some stupid ass reason. Black and White cars and undercover.

At first I was turning left to go to my driveway, and the street was narrow since there was a car parked, so the cop stopped at the sign and just stares at me. (I have the right away) and waving for him to go and he just keeps staring I roll my window down and tell him I need him to move forward. That's when he started up about the plate. If I was in the mustang I would've been able to fit I think. But I was in a c6 and didn't want to push my luck.

i've seen it where they use plugs and have them the same color, it does still stick out a little, but maybe you can make it blend in with the color comb...IDK

Mine has plugs, I believe. We don't need front license plates in Michigan, thank goodness.

they have a filler you can buy for that.. just squeezes out of a tube.. used it on my grand am long ago, worked great... use 2-3 layers though, first one to fill it then the next 2 to smooth it out because it sinks in after a few hours.

are these plugs you guys are talking about specifically for the bumper? Will I have to file them down at all? I'm just worried about a little bit of liquid being inside the two holes and somehow messing the stripes up, or if I get the little plug, it pushing the stripe out a little causing a small bump.
