I'm Getting Blown! :o)

Hey guys, haven't been on these forums in a while, just thought I'd give ya an update.

I'm officially getting BLOWN!! or Whipple'd is the term I use.

I pulled the trigger on the Ford Racing / Whipple Supercharger for my 05 Mustang. Its the H.O. Intercooled 10PSI kit, due to arrive @ my work on Tuesday. I cant wait, I've been sooo anxious for a supercharger, but coulnd't decide on which one to get, after months of debate, I decided on the Ford Racing one.

expected to put me @ 475RWHP or around that range.

I'll be sure to post pics, installation pics and dyno vids when I get them!

I have a Kenne Bell and pulled 481rwhp on one dyno and 466rwhp on another dyno, your in the ballpark with 10psi.

Oh by the way, you will get better gas mileage WITH the blower than without it.

the kit does not get dyno tuned. you pull the ECU out of the car, and send it to Ford Racing, kind of like Roush or Saleen, and they will reflash your ECU. once i get it back, I'll put it up on the dyno to check out the A/F ratio.

Definetly get it checked on a dyno. If it is off, get a SCT and have the dyno tuner reflash the computer with it. There are so many things you can change about how the car drives that I would want a custom tune anyway.

i have an SCT2 from Bamachips. From the 4 people I know that got whipple's, the tunes have been dead on with the A/F ratio. so yea, no worries, and if the A/F ratio is off, just gotta contact Ford Racing. no biggie

Ford Racing does not know the atmosphere where you live. Do yourself a favor and have it tuned as close to where you live as possible. If the A/F is good then no probs. The thing is drivability issues can be resolved with a dyno tune or having the tuner road test it. My A/F after my first dyno tune was right on but the car fell on its face when hitting the gas hard. There are way too many things to consider when getting the car to run and drive good. A canned tune from Ford racing IMO won't be the best but then again some people will drive a car with drivability problems and just think it does that because it is blown when really the tune needs work.
