to build or not to build

Ive been quoted 934.50 for a engine builder to hone my cylinders and prep and assemble my short block...i kind of wanted to do this myself but i do like the idea of a pro doing it...what do you guys think?

if your very comfortable with doing something like that then go for it. Hope you have all the tools needed and what not. IMO I would let a pro do it cuz if someting goes bad there is no one to blame

same as and old chevy 350 build....make sure you have some plasta-gauge to check the bearing clearances in the mains and connecting rods.....everything goes in the same way....crankshaft, then connecting rods and pistons....I say if you feel like you can do it then go ahead and do it....

seems like a decent price to know its spot on. But if you can get access to all the equipment for free, which i think you can, and you want to do it. do it.

Dont worry about it if anything goes wrong win some money and ill sell you a crate engine.

What?

I'd say let a pro do it. That doesn't seem like a bad price either
