Nice GO Boss GTPONY ...
I believe if you're going to put Lemans stripes on they should be tapered ... therefore painted. The tapering ties the stripes into the body lines ... gives it a depth that straight 10" stripes can't achieve IMO. I used the original Shelby specs as a guide and had mine tapered, keeping the ending point on the hood lined up with the racing lights ... the most noticeable taper is the hood but you have to back up from the car to really see it. Originally I had the 281CI reverse stenciled but it didn't turn out right so I had it blacked out and I put the decals you see on it. The concept: ![]() GO all the way down ![]() You can see a little of the taper: ![]() A little better: ![]() DIY decals ... ![]() Done ...

![]() I did a way that was border line econo ... if I had to do it again I'd pay the $1800 for the full-monty (full clear of all surfaces). I paid about $1k ... had the stripes done then cleared, but just the stripes ... the original stencil didn't turn out right so when I had the hood redone I cleared the entire hood. I could have had a Ford dealer just shoot the stripes, no clear at all for $600. The decals I had custom made for $20 ... put'em on myself. In the end I learned that just like anything else ... just decide to go "all in" and get it done right the first time. I do like the way it turned out ... but for an extra $800 I could have gotten that "show winner" job. |

If not referring to grabber...and assuming mine is better
(but gotta give grabber props on some clean stripes )..The stripe kit was $349 direct and installed myself....along with everything else on my car (helps keeps the cost down). |

Thanks...took me a while to commit to putting anything on it, but now I wouldnt have it any other way. Not to mention it gets tons of rubber neck driving down the streets and at the car shows....
