Diablo Tuner From eBay Gone Wrong
So if ya'll remember, i bought a Diablo tuner online and had a horrendous time geting it to work (which i never got it to). So i email the guy and he denies absolutely no knowing of it's lockedness and refuses to give me my money back. Now, i've got a few mods that could really use a tune, but this guy F'd me. Is that BS or what? What to do?

ya i think it's like $100 or so, but i got the tuner off of him for $255+shipping. add a hundred to that and i just as well could have bought a brand new one. Should i just eat the fee and deal with it or fight it out on eBay? Does anybody know how to maybe reset it so i don't have to send it in? you know, like wipe out the memory or something...

find his house. get a brown paper bag....put some dog shit in it........put it at his front door step.....light it on fire and then ring the bell. Then instead of running away hide just out of sight and then once he has stepped in shit...punch him in the face 1 to lets say a mild 28 times. But that's just what I would do.

Did this guy advertise it as having been used on an 06 mustang, that was crashed so he couldn't retrieve the tune to unlock it?

Did you purchase with pay pal? if you did they have buyers protection that you can pursue. It does not matter what you buy from ebay, if you did not get what you expected you can dispute it and I have had a lot of good luck on getting my money back. Also if you paid with a CC call your credit card company and tell them you bought the product and it was broke. A lot of times if its been less than thirty days they can refund your money no questions asked. My family has owned a buisness for over 30 years and people do this a lot, you will have to check with ur CC company for their policies concerning this. So check all of these resources and see which one can give you the best solution. Best of luck.

you said you e-mailed him, make sure you send the message through ebay messages so they have record of all your movements, and then file a dispute (as stated above)
It sucks to have ppl on there doing that, to others, always check their feedback scores and comments also... I hope ya get this straightened out...good luck

Thanks guys. No he didn't advertise it as being used on an '06, but rather just the tuner in general as not being used anymore. Here's what i think. I think this A hole loaded whatever tune he like best, then sold me the tuner. Here i am with a locked tuner and he's probly at the dragstrip right now. OUCH. I submitted a dispute with eBay but the email they sent back didn't sound promising. They said they will investigate, but they also sent me like uhbillion links about how to report it to online crime investigation units, my local police. i mean wtf why can't ebay deal with it? is it too much to ask to want my money back???

I've gone through a similar situation...
I bought the same tuner but for my 07 from stangmods.com and when it got to me, it wants some kind of update file that it doesn't want to take from the internet when I try to update it. I contacted standmods and they had no idea what to do. This was awhile ago so I don't remember exactly what error file it was saying but I even took it to Dallas Mustang and they couldn't fix it. I tried to get my money back or even an exchange and they won't. It seems to me that my tuner has been used and then returned and then resold to me... But its all good now. SCT and a Kenne Bell will work just fine. ![]() Good luck to you! |
