Gas "vandalism?"
Is there anything that can be found in gas to cause an engine to blow? Like back in the day when people used to put sugar to ruin peoples cars? If someone didn't like you are there things to add to newer cars (i.e. 05 mustang) to make the engine blow?

Well we were at Myrtle Beach and my intake sits right behind a hole in the Saleen fascia. It's Kenne Bell's cold air kit

+1. I was going to say water. Water and gas don't mix so it'll take water in and no gas.

I guess I'll know what the problem is once the motor is out.
How hard is it to find the culprit of a blown motor?

obviously you think someone could have done this to you.
It wouldn't happen from a little bit of sand from driving near the beach. Water could do this, but the car would have run like crap pretty quickly once the water was being pumped into the motor instead of gas. A good way to rule out anything in the fuel is to take the fuel filter and cut it open to see if something was there, or even blow thru it to check for an obstruction. One thing I do religiously is cut the oil filter open to check for any thing in it.

It never came across my mind, maybe because I was baffled by the whole situation, but my buddy that's a tow truck driver last night was saying that maybe someone put something in my fuel and it got me thinking but I doubt that's the problem...
They need to pull my block out ASAP

Not really, well nothing easy anyway. You'd be hard pressed to get any sand sucked in past your air filter, unless you had a leak. And any particulate like sand in the gas tank will get caught in the fuel pump sock, fuel filter, or fuel injector screans. Suguer won't do anything really, that was a myth. Water in the gas tank won't hurt the engine either, it isn't like it can hydrolock it. The water will displace the fuel, and when the injector sprays a shot of water, or waterlogged fuel, the cylinder won't fire. The engine will just die before any serious amount of water will go into it.
What exactly do you mean by blew? Like rods sticking out of the side of the block? Or it runs, but knocks? Or what?

I know I cracked the block or blew a chunk out of it and at least bent a rod. I saw smoke, saw crap start leaking out, and heard metal banging around as my car hesitated to stay alive and then it shut off. The car doesn't even turn over!
