KB or Twins

So here I am completely set on the 2.8H Mammoth from kenne bell. I start reading the MM&FF (i think) and see this twin turbo system by heritage. the base system works on 8psi of boost for the stock internals using the stock fuel pump (w/o bap) and stock mass air flow. So i email them about pricing and such. i get a very quick response from the sales department about the price. he says right now it's going for 8500 + shipping, but will go up soon. so i'm thinking that's more than i want to spend. a few days go by and i get another email with a better price due to my being deployed in the army that has shipping already included. given it's still more than what the KB will cost, but not by much. what does everyone think about this kit. it's supposed to be good for 900HP with the turbo's that come with it.

Depends upon where you want to go with the car. If your goal is 700+ rear wheel, then any 76mm single or smaller twin setup will likely get you there. But it won't be useable power, unless you spend another 20-30k on major motor, transmission, rearend, fuel, safety and other upgrades.

I tend to shy away from the latest and the greatest mods now. Rather go with something tried and tested by many others.

yeah the kit has been out for a bit over a year from what i see on their site. the new part is what has gotten me and it's still more than the KB which will undoubtedly make killer power. i do know that with major power comes the need for everything else though. just getting started is the first step

That's a tough choice Bob. I'm with Steve on this one, I had some quirks with the Turbonetics kit when it first came out, nothing major, but it took a little while to get everything lined out. I saw the Heritage system 1'st hand at Fun Ford Weekend in Baytown. It appeared to be a nice setup with alot of potential, but I'm on the fence with this one...I don't know of anyone using the Heritage yet.

I talked to S.D. Wheeler at FFW Georgia. That is the set up he is running and I watched him run low 11's with stock 3.31 gears, drag radials and exhaust. I think he has a PI converter but everything else is stock. I think he even hit the 10's at Orlando. I really want that kit as well everything is just tucked away neatly. Ultimate sleeper!

Yeah, I don't see how they are running low 11's and high 10's with the stock system either. Even the Turbonetics came with 60# injectors and I had to upgrade the fuel system too for anything over 8.5 psi.

so you could keep the fuel system stock under that cuz they say the basic kit with the tune for a stock car is 8 psi.

Tousley Ford sells Whipple HO kits for $6400 shipped to your door. Send them an email and see if they give military discounts. With gauges, gauge pod, upgraded tensioner, 8-rib kit and you'll be around $8000

3V Kits : BGG Performance!, Your 8 Rib Specialists This company gives military discounts if you want an 8-rib kit. Don't get the tensioner from them.

Yes, the stock fuel system with the supplied injectors was good at 8.5 psi, but it was only good for 430 rwhp/430 rwtq. I doubt that would put a 3,770# car into the high 10's. I know I wasn't even entertaining the thought of 10's at that power level. My car weighs 3770 #'s with 5/8'ths tank of gas and me in it. I have Che lowers, swaybar delete, strange adjustable shocks rear, Roush rear springs, and nitto 555 dr's and I'm shooting for 11.5-11.7 with cooler air and 12-13 psi.

The stock pump should be fine around 430rwhp. I'm not sure about the injectors though.
