whats a fair price......
To install an o/r H and some MILs? I got a quote for $150 which is insane IMO. I cant really do it myself as I have no way of getting under the car. (i know I need jacks.....but it irritates me having no room to work with the car 2 feet off the ground) Also do the MILs just clip in or is there more to it? Pics of MILs on a car would be cool so I get an Idea of where they go. I have the stingers,MILs coming Monday, and about to order the H from Brenspeed.....but this shiz is starting to get expensive

actually 150 doesnt sound terrible in my opinion. I mean i know what your thinking but they are probably chargeing you for 2 hours. Who knows maybe you could find a shop that would only charge you 1 hour. I think the issue to them would be is it worth their time to do it for less. Dont know what area you are in but maybe you could find a shop the rents garage space by the hour. I do that a lot if i want a lift and specific tools that i dont have. 24 bucks an hour.

I know what your saying. Maybe someone else has an opinoin. I just think they look at it like, we got get it in the air, get the old stuff off, get the new stuff on, mess with it get it right, start it up and make sure there are no rattles, they should then let it cool down and tighten everything again becuase a lot of times you can get another 1/2 turn after that. So its an hour, and you know how they figure it.

LOL. no. It really isnt a hard job. I know what you mean about working under the car. Its a pain in the ass and especially with exhuast stuff becuase it requires so much adjustment sometimes, any time im messing with the mid pipe i do it on a lift. But just know that you could do it on jack stands. its a pretty simple job.
Other then that, make a few calls and see if you can get it for less. I dont think a buck fifty is exaclty ridiculous. Its not a great deal by any means but its not terrible. |

I'm a couple hours away - I'll do it for you for free. I've spent numerous hours on my back underneath the car.

HA! the base hobby shop charges me $2/hr and gives me a lift and all the tools i could ever want. lol. just be careful with the O2 sensors, i busted one of them because the factory didn't use antiseize and they're about $50 a pop. your going to need an extension to get up to the manifolds, but otherwise it's a sinch. kind of a no brainer because its just nuts and bolts straight up. But get somebody to stand behind the car when your bolting the new pipe on because your mufler placement can get all out of whack. oh and use antiseize...
