at the shop

Went to the shop today and check the rear. only found one bearing that was nicked up. so we replaced all the bearings. The ring and pinioin were wearing fine. the rotational vibration is still there. I actually am beginning to wonder if its not the idler pulley, maybe its not balanced and i didnt notice it until the motor mounts went in becuase thats when i started noticeing. Either that or the flywheel is not balanced. so i guess this weekend im putting my stock pulleys back on. also checked the heads, everything looked good. the squeek must be just the way the air is comeing through the header or something.

Also for those that think the dyno at sgs is just high, and my numbers are high, there were two cars getting dynod today. one was a roush stage I, with roush cai, stage II vsr cams, shorty headers. o/r x and roush axle backs he dynoed at 329/315, lol i told him i made 352 with nsr cams, only difference was long tubes and delete plates. LOL. the other one with a JLT cai, tune, dynod at like 287. mine with the steeda was 296.

Yes, but it's also true that even stock Mustangs make different power, right. Ranging anywhere from as low as 250's to 280's stock.

So it stands to reason that as you modify them and add power, that differential will be even greater, even were one to run exactly the same combo on two different rides.

a stock manual mustang should not be at 250 unless the tune from the factory is screwed up. it should be in the 260 range, not less then 260 on a dynojet.

Point being really is that those numbers match up to other people that I have seen with those cams, and those mods. So their dyno is not high, thats my point.

Steeda, and nsr cams FTW.

If its not raining tomorrow night im there dude.

Yes it should be. But my point is that there have, in fact, been Mustangs that have only pulled in the 250's stock.

This is true, i have seen a manual at 252, but again the mixture was all screwed up, and with the intake and tune, which corrected the messed up tune in the first place the car was at 291 with a intake and tune. this does not mean you get 39 hp with that tune and intake, some of that was correcting the bad tune to begin with.

You feelin me dude.

But you right every car is different, and responds different. Like i said my point was just that other guys running VSR cams were getting 330 and stuff and that is inline with what this car got, so its not just that SGS always dynos high. My car is just better, what can i say, i love it. its those 74000 miles she is broke in and running free.

Sheesh, could you imagine the feelings that guy must've had when he drove his car after it was all retuned? Must've felt on top of the world. haha

Yeah but probably got a reality check at the next mod session. Thinking it was so easy to produce bulks of power. Prolly spent 800 to a grand and only netted 15-20 ponies and wanted to sell the friggen car.

That being said there are some factory freaks out there, I have had my share.

Hey emay, do you think the steeda pulley could be off balance and cuaseing the wah wah wah vibration i feel and hear. I always thought it seemed like the engine was not balanced. I know it isnt the gears now and the spydershaft has balancing weights on it, we saw them today. Its not the shaft i felt this before that. Now i just feel it a lot more with everything i do.

Could be that or a flexed flywheel. Your obviously launching that thing a lot with your track appearances. I'd start with the pulleys like you planned.

You know I went through balancing my spydershaft, it was out horribly as were a few others I installed locally. Glenn didn't have that problem and I did his about the same time frame.
