Upper Control Arm

Going to try and get a few people to install all the suspension pieces in my garage and was wondering if its necessary to install the bmr uca or until another time.

How hard is it to adjust the camber on your own or do I need to take it to a shop to do it

shop has alignment tools. they make gauges to do it yourself... call an alignment shop and get the tolerences for a shelby gt. I look it up for you.

You dont have to install the UCA. Your pinion is off, you lowered the car, so if you want it right then you need to. With a two piece drivshaft youll probably never know the difference except in your short times.

The camber bolts are what you use to adjust the camber. If you can get the specs for a shelby gt that would work. firestone does not have specs for the shelby gt, they have specs for the gt 500, and gt. neither is what you need, the gt 500 is not lowered.

You can buy a camber gauge for 50 bucks. or try to find and specialty shop.

I called firestone and they dont have them. I tried to have good year do my aligment for 75, they said they had specs on a shelby gt, when i looked at the sheet after the alignment it said gt 500, which i speciffically told them wouldnt work. So i finally found a shop to do it for me right, a performance suspension shop.

I forgot what springs you have. but the shelby gt is lowered with FRPP springs. 1.3 in the front 1.4 in the back. anything close to that your good, eibach pro kit, BMR springs.

here is a thought. In theory, your camber will be off -1.5. if you drop it with any of those springs. the bmr bolts are 2 degree bolts. even if you adjust them to the max, it would be damn close to haveing your camber correct. certianly within spec. But the ultimate thing would be to find a shop that truly can do it right for you.

yes the bmr springs are close enough. 1.25 in front and 1.5 in back.

if you want your camber right you need something. i drove around with my camber off for over 30,000 miles. tires show it a little bit but not enough even now that i need tires. Its your choice.

Ford sells shelby gt's that haveing nothing done to correct the camber or aligment with a warranty. They take a gt, put those springs on and the other junk, they dont align that car that i know of. i have watched the process. And if that has changed call shelby automotive or ford racing and try to get the corrected specs. They wont know

Dont get me wrong it will be off, just like your rear is off and your pinion angle is off. Your choice what is important to you.

The funny thing is if you look at joeice's post about his suspension problem its kinda like me. I rolled with those springs and nothing else done for a long time. as i started to add all the other suspension stuff, like panhard bar, sway bars, control arms, then all the sudden my car felt outta wack until i got it aligned. maybe the car didnt know it was fucked up until then. i dont know.
