GT500 Big Brake Kits - $550!!

Several GT500 Brembo brakes setup. $550 - MustangForums.com

Just wanted to pass this deal along to any one else. I just ordered a set yesterday. Def. a great buy, especially if you were planning on just buying new rotors for your S197. I'm not the seller nor am I related or have any type of business with him, I just thought I'd pass along what I think is a great deal!

I guess a lot of 18's dont fit and the best thing to do would be to call FRPP. I'm taking a stab with my 20's but I don't think the 20's should be a problem. Especially since my 20's are not deep dish.

I dont think big brakes fit the fr500s. I took a look at them and there is like a cm between the brake caliper and the rim already.

I should be getting them any day. I'll let you know the condition of them but won't be able to tell you the stopping difference till my car gets done. But from what I've heard, it's a great big brake setup. ESPECIALLY for $550. I want to upgrade to some steel lines and some nicer rotors so I should have a badass setup for hopefully less than $1k

I got mine in the other day. A ding or two in the black paint, nothing you can see until your up real close. Other then that a perfect set of Brembo brakes. I'll be installing mine Saturday

I actually bought a set of new rims to accommodate these bad boys. There a lot bigger in person then in pictures. Pictures don't do them justice.

According to the seller, the mechanical shape should be perfect. They are take offs of basically new GT500's that get turned into track cars. JonCo will be able to verify the mechanical shape though.

JonCo, are you keeping everything as is or are you upgrading any of the parts?

CS69 Rims. 20x9 F, 20x10 rear. On Nitto 555. Much better then the General Tires I was running as far as traction goes.

My old 20" bullits would have needed atleast 1" spacer and even then I wasn't sure it'd fit and if it did the tires wold stick out the sides.

They deff look nice. Pads are good rotors look untouched. So as far as I can tell cosmetically they are perfect. Saturday I'll see if they work, which I'm sure they will. I'm only being precautions.

I already have SS brake lines installed and have slotted drilled rotors but all 4 of those will be coming off and replacing the rears with stock rotors again and the fronts with the ones that came with the kit. And DOT 4 brake fluid.

Got them installed today. Initial thoughts of the system are impressive. Haven't gotten on them much but so far so good. night and day difference from stock set-up. Well worth the money invested.

Details and pictures later
