Help me pick wheel size
I have had my mind set on getting some black shelby razors for awhile but wasn't going to order them until the spring. Was initial going to go with 18 in directly from shelby. But found the other day that Late Model Restoration is selling sets in 18s and 20s for way cheaper than could ever get from shelby. The thing is though a set of 20s is $130 cheaper than the 18s on latemodelrestoration. I will put the same size tire on all around so can rotate but looking for some help on what size to get. The thing I'm worried about with 20s is the ride comfort and to a lesser degree loss of power and mpg. Heres a pic of the car right now just for reference.

Pics?
your getting shelby razors? they will come in 20x9's. I suggest getting 275/35/20's. I'm lowered 2 inches and have 20's and still have a smooth ride. If you like the way 20's look, get them. They aren't a problem at all and cost about the same.

sorry the link got messed up
http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...IMG_0413_2.jpg Yea I know they come in 17,18,20. I was leaning towards the 18s but the price of the set of 20s on latemodelrestoration has me second guessing. |

I def. like 20s if you're going with the shelby razor. only thing bad besides weight is they are only 9'' wide!
I'm going with godspeed omega chrome 18x10s and 18x9s. GODSPEED WHEELS - Ultra Deep Dish Rims if you want to check them out. I've just got to save a little before I get these. I just got 4.10s today! what a blast! Good wheel choice though with the razors. I love the look. I was going to get them and then get them widened to a 10.5'' but decided it would save me some $$$ to go with the godspeed wheels. Plus I love the star pattern with the chrom lip. |

he said he is getting the same size all the way around so he can rotate. that means no drag radials and no staggard fitment. a cheaper route for him to go would be 255/35/20 nitto nt555's, but they would be a little small for the 9in rim.

haha easier to pick when its not your money or your car aint it?
![]() Heres the thing that I am debating inside. I think in the looks department like piggy said the 20s look better but is that better look worth the loss in ride quality and to a lesser degree mpg and loss of power(remember its only a V6 haha)? If the set of 20s wasn't $130ish cheaper than the 18s I don't think I would have this debate at all and would just go with 18s. |

yeah, still undecided between the jlt and c&l. If i dont go jlt w/ sct xcal 3 from doug (waiting for juco's 2 cents haha) then I'll probably get the c&l from 07stang gt w/ the predator tuner that he's trying to move. Then get a custom tune or two from doug.

I'm gonna get some 18's personaly. The 20's look perfect on the s197. The 18's are perfect for the performance aspect. If you have 20's you lose some hp about 10-20ish, turning and breaking also suffer alittle. But 20's look great....up to you.
