gear ratios in an 07 stang
Hey...does anybody know the individual ratios of the 5 gears in a 5 speed manual tranny. I downloaded a calculator that allows you to look at top speed and rpms per gear based on whatever rear end gears you plug into the calculator. But I can't find the gear by gear ratios. Thanks

your mustang came with the TR3650 manual transmission with a new 5th gear ratio for improved fuel economy which adds an extra 2mpg on the highways, but equally important in picking the appropriate rear gear ratio.
2005+ Mustang (Tremec 3650) 1- 3.34:1 2- 2.00:1 3- 1.32:1 4- 1.00:1 5- 0.68:1 reverse- 3.38:1 2005+ Mustang (5R55S) auto 1- 3.25:1 2- 2.44:1 3- 1.55:1 4- 1.00:1 5- 0.75:1 reverse- 3.07:1 if i'm not mistaken the 5th gear was .62 for the tr3650 in previous mustangs?

99 stang,
Thanks. That is exactly what I needed. I plugged them into the calculator and Bingo!...all the info I needed. I was surprised that the rpm's at 60 won't change that much with 4.10's. I am using 3.55's as the stock gears...that is correct, right?

Mustang Calculators: (Gears are for S197 stangs, adding other years soon) ever wonder what size tire would fit on a 18x9 rim or what a set of 4.10 gears would do to your top speed? well, I did, so I created a spreadsheet that calculates these for you. Give it a try..... http://home.comcast.net/~swieduwilt0...lculations.xls I would like to hear your comments.. you can get an excel viewer that plugs into your browser here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=EN

Stock rear gear was 2.73, 3.08, 3.27, for fox body stangs, I dont know if ford changed those ratios for the mod motors. Alot of people say put a 3.73 gear in a stick and 4.10 for auto but its all up to you. I had an LTD with a 4.30 and it was crazy fun. Do you want crazy torque and high rpms? Then go with a 3.73 or more. Or just mild torque and slower revving? Then maybe a 3.27 or less is more what you want. |

I'm kind of pushing towards the 3.73, but what was it like with the 4.30 in there? If I put either of these in here would i feel any difference.
thanks much |
