SC Champion Edition Mustang tuning.

Ok so I have a buddy i work with that has a 2006 or 2007 Mustang. Now I know this sounds a bit crazy but it's a champion edition Mustang. I guess a local dealer made a few saleen equivilant cars to compete on the market. Funny enough he is driving the second one ever made. It is equiped from the dealer with a Procharger Supercharger. (if needed I can get the model number) but when discussing the SC and tuning that was done, he was told that the SC installed was rated as high as 600 RWHP. It dynoed at 335 WHP on aparently very conservitive tuning. They also told him that the stock internals could handle it 600WHP if so desired.

I guess I am tyring to figure out:

A. Is that true about the stock internals or would 600 RWHP tear itself apart?

B. If the car can be tuning much higher how would I go about it? I am a turbo guy so I am not sure what is required to tune a SC car. How do you adjust fuel, timing etc... Is there flash programs or is it all manually adjusted ect. Thanks for the help guys. I will see if I can get a pic of the car. really nice looking.

Safe for this cars is a low 400 rwhp. They run fine with a high 480 rwhp or so with the right tuning. But 600 wont last a day.

well the magic number on the stock 05+ 3v internals seems to be 500hp, a friend is pushing 470'ish hp with a kb on his 05 for some time now and hasn't had any problems with his stock clutch and tr3650 5 speed manual holding up. he can probably boost up to around 8-9psi on that procharger, not sure how much boost he is pushing now. changing the boost levels is as easy as changing the pulley, however the aftermarket tuning would be required. you should be able to take it to any local SCT dealer to have them dyno tune it to your needs. maybe also think about freeing up a few more hp by getting an electric waterpump.

One last question. Should I/he consult Procharger about tuning? I'm assuming you have to use special software to tune it. Or can it be done by anyone? Sorry about the "dumb" questions, but I've only built big turbo cars. I don't know dick about SC's LOL

The Procharger kit should come with a base tune to their specs, but i would highly recommend getting it dyno tuned after the install, the tuner you go to can use whatever software you choose, beit SCT or DiabloSport. This will allow the tuner to read the air fuel ratio's and make any other needed adjustments like idle kickdown or traction control off in the computer.
