Ford racing K-springs

Was just wondering if anyone was rockin these springs. If so, how do you like them? I am also open to other suggestions on springs...I just liked these ones since they are 1.5/1.5 drop as opposed to a 1.0/1.25 drop. Thanks.

I have them on my car. They are really a 1.3 front and 1.4 drop in the back. frpp advertises them as "approx" 1.5. I like them there are a good spring, with a progressive rate, meaning the gett stiffer the more they compress and faster they compress. BMR has a good spring too with a drop of 1.25 in frong and 1.5 in the back. If you look at some pics of car with those springs it doesnt sound like much but you can notice a more even stance there.
I like those springs as well and ride quality is suppose to be good.

so, I read up on those BMRs and they seem to be almost a better choice. I do like the way the stance looks with them. What else do I need when lowering? Do I need a panhard rod or could I get away with the stock one?

If you can afford it do it. You can do without one if its not a daily driver, but you will notice that the tire is push out farther on the driver side. Noticably farther. Also an adjustable panhard is a good idea anyway because you can center your axle even better than it came from the factory. Its on my "next round of mods" list as well.

This is going to sound dumb to you probably but, what exactly does the panhard rod do?...Im sort of a suspension newb. I can do engine and drivetrain all day, but Ive never really done suspension

I have the eibach sportlines because they had the biggest drop (I think). I also got a BMR adjustable panhard bar from brenspeed. If you do it- do it right. The car is SO MUCH BETTER looking and handeling. Stock swaybars, stock shocks, and I can throw it in a corner at speed- I love it.

I got my springs off ebay- they're retail is overpriced in my opinion

Yes its like he said. You can get away with just lowering it nothing else. I did it for 20,000 miles. But your camber will be off a little, your rear will be off center a little, your lower controls arms will not be positioned right and your shocks are going to wear out prematurely with any lower springs. Again, its not something you really notice thought. at minumum i like the relocation brackets and the panhard bar and keep shocks and struts in your budget for within 10,000 miles or less depending on how many miles you already have on them.

panhard bar runs from the axle to the bottom of the car itself. it is a certain length, made for the distance between the axle and the car now, when you lower the car, that distance closes, becomes shorter, the bar being the old lenght ends up pushing the car to the right, hence the left wheel sticking out further. getting the adjustable panhard hard bar, what you are doing in essence is making it shorter. The job of the panhard bar is to keep the rear cenetered in cornering it comes in to play.

the relocation brackets for the lca's right? I have about 36000 miles on my car, and have been wanting to get shocks and struts too, i can only buy so things at once.

not the best pics but you can see the right side of the panhard bar conected to the car and barely the left side of the bar where it goes down begind the swaybar and connects to the axle. You can picture if the car gets closer to the axle the car itelf the car has to shift right.

I understand that.
Yes the brackets for the lcs'a in that pic you can see im still running without the brackets and with the stock LCA.

I peiced my suspension together. springs first, when i had about 40,000 on the car, shocks were totally shot in less then 10,000, to the point i had to get new shocks, they can not keep up with the spring rate on lowering springs and the car will start to drive like the shocks are bad.

Actually noticed it on a race track before 10,000 miles but becuase it was winter i was only at the track once and just ignored it. but by 50,000 even driving on the highway i could tell. Lets put it this way, i thought the car handled fine with just springs until i got the bilsteins shocks/struts. was big difference

Then i got the panhard bar, didnt really feel any difference in the ride, but the rear was centered and im sure aggressive cornering would be helped, and probably launching the car, you need to keep that rear centered when you launch.

Then i got the lca's and relo brackets, again, mustang guys in general being straight line guys they will tell you these help with 60s and launching and keep the tires planted, and they do, but dont discount the difference it makes in just normal driving and cornering, again a huge difference in the way the car drove, the tires just follow the road better and handle bumps better.

Then i got sway bars and, i would say i didnt really notice a huge difference in the car. actually im running with the stock sway bars on right now. espeically the rear sway bar. the stock bar with the rubber bushings helps to keep noise down. the aftermarket sway bars espeically in the rear with the poly bushing can transmit more noise and make you feel the bumps a little more becuase again, they are running from that solid axle to the bottom of the car.

Then i got the strut tower brace. again its a small difference, but a difference in the front end. especially when the rear is stiff the front seems to want to give more.

Then i got adjustable a arms. That finally fixed my camber issue which otherwise i ignored for 30,000 miles with only a little uneven wear on the tires. that also took out all the play in the steering wheel. made the front end feel a lot better.

Thank you for all your help. I think I will go with those BMR springs and panhard rod, then piece together the other stuff as I go. I get paid tomorrow, so hopefully I can squeeze out the extra hundred for the panhard. What shipping company do you use?

no problem. You can also do camber bolts if your worried about your camber. they are $36 i think. but you do need a shop that can work with lowered cars to really get the camber right. the bolts themselves are nothing to install but you would be just eyeballing the camber. and normal shops are going to use stock specs to align everything and the numbers will be wrong.
