that link you posted doesnt work for me. You mean you cant find many choices. There is the MGW, the Hurst billet plus shifter, The frpp hurst shifter, the pro 5.0, the steeda tri ax, and i think roush has one out.

here are a few threads about them on this forum. If you type short throw in the search function you can find more. Just make sure your reading about 2005+ cars

lol thanks, my biggest concern is buying it and not having it fit. it wouldn't let me post a link with my first post which was annoying, then I tried replying but I guess the fourms went down? ill take a look at a few dffrent ones, I plan on buying one either this week or next thanks for the input, is it hard installing it? I can only get the car up about 2-3feet off the floor, that shouldn't be a prob right?

This forum has a how-to sticky. Here's the link you need - scroll down to the MGW install. It's all you need to know for the installation of any s197 shifter.

I have the billet also ( mainly because I worship the Zip ) but it is a newer style and I love it. I may say the same thing about the mgw though if I had it. Can't go wrong with either although, as the magazine shows, thre are others that get high marks

Also it asks for thread size, is that for the shift knob or some unknown thing i don't know about yet

You can use the stock upper stick and knob with the hurst as well. FYI.

MGW ftw. I also swapped out the knob for the mgw composite race one (Mustang 2005 Composite Race Knob) and it made a huge difference in feel and comfort and I didn't think it was possible to make the shifter better.

i like that the MGW sets the shifter farther back toward the console making the reach eaiser and keeps your hand away from the radio during the third gear power jam.
