I would get the short block. The rotating assembly would be cheaper yes, but did you forget you can sell your old one + it will take a lot less time and work?

I don't have an option now since I blew my block but before I did I contemplated both options and decided when I would be ready to build it to just buy a shortblock

That has been my idea, SUHLeen. I'd be able to sell the old motor (mainly) complete for a good price, so it'll be worth it to me.

How much do stock shortblocks sell for if there is nothing wrong with them

No clue, really. I'd be selling mine as a longblock as I'd be moving to livernois (or similar) heads as well.

You should be able to get $1-$2k for the long block depending on condition and if anything else is included or not...

I figured about $1800 for the long block, so that sounds about right. It'll almost cover the cost of the new heads, lol.

All depends on if I stay N/A or not. If I can get near 425 RWHP N/A with the stroker, heads and Hot Rod Cams, I'd be satisfied with staying N/A (and it'd be a hell of a lot cheaper).

Then again, I could get closer to 500 RWHP on the stock block with a blower.

PLENTY of time to think it over as I won't have the money for some time now...

I say 298 stroker, stage II heads, hot rod cams. Collect additional funds then get a twinscrew. Collect additional fund then 6spd tranny.... Gotta take baby steps all the up

Well, yeah, that could work, but everyone complains about the LSA on these cams and says they are terrible for a supercharger. If I'm going all out and getting a blower, I'm getting the biggest blower cam on the market. I'm sure someone will take the Hot Rods off my hands

I am different

Seriously though. I love my cams. I love the chop... the lope... the sound... the high end power gain. But if I'm going to "do it right", I want the absolute best cams I can get for my setup. If I have to lose a little bit of sound to have the right cam, so be it.

Until then, I'm going to enjoy what I have, cause it sounds fucking wonderful
