R.i.p. : 5r55s yup my tranny is starting to take a crap.... third gear is pretty much gone..... is there anyone who builds a quality 5r55s that can withstand as much as i can throw at it?

Yes but he is in Texas, and they are in Texas. And sometimes not everything is listed on a website. At the least he can give them a call and perhaps find out who is good to deal with in his area.

i would definately consider a 4r70 but i also dont want to spend 5k in a tranny swap.... plus i like having 5 gears..... when i spoke to brenspeed they said the tci unit has been working fine with no problems... but idk... i also keep hearing about larrys transmissions

I have the FB Performance model 4stb-e (4r70w) with full manual valve body, transbrake, converter lockup, and electronic overdrive (for highway street use only). Rated at about 1200hp. Got to be careful with transbrake use. Transmission oil temps increase by about 50 degrees F for every second transbrake button is depressed.

I have the Level 10 Stage III 5R55s for over two years never had any problems.
My tranny toasted jut like yours, 3rd gear, so I installed this tranny and it has been flawless.

When I start going at a stop light at medium throttle, sometimes it feels like my rpms jump and its like the tranny is slipping, then it grabs and it starts going again. This happens in a matter of seconds.
