What all was involved, what transmission did you go with, what were the oh shits involved, roughly how much did it cost? Trans brake not required.

You answered your own question, lol. Less problematic too as I keep increasing the power also.

The car has 26,xxx miles with no issues. Makes regular 1600 mile round trips to florida also. I'd let you all know if it was a no no or not.

Since you drive it on the highway so much I think a built 5R55S would be the way to go seeing that is what is offered from the factory so it would make a swap easier, and it is a 5 speed, where the 4r70w is a 4.

Thats the direction that I'm leaning for exactly those reasons. I was hoping maybe someone could give me the lowdown on just how involved the swap is.

I couldn't see it being more than a cross member, driveshaft, and a wiring harness.

I work on these transmissions every day if you think you will keep making more power you should go with the 4r70w much stronger than a 5r55
I put one in the car I drive and beat the hell out of it runs 10.0 on transbrake
here is the site http://www.fbperformance.com
no wiring harness or pcm needed manual shift with o/d push button and lock up converter

Don't forget the cooler and lines, a converter and a shifter.

And from what I understand, quite a bit of massaging of the tunnel (A.K.A.: beating the crap outta the tunnel until it fits) for a 4r70W
