Hood pins

I know I've seen this on here before but I could not find it. Im looking for the hood pins that do not require drilling of the hood. I saw some where everything is under the hood. can anyone give me some info on this.

not sure what you mean by under the hood. There are the actual pin kind that drill through the hood and are held in place by the clip. There is a twist lock kind that also requires drilling. And then there is a fake hood pin appearance kit that just sticks to the hood and has the pin, but isn't actually functional. That's all I've ever seen though.

Those pins that go under the hood "DO NOT HOLD FOR SHIT". don't do it.

They secure to the bottom so as to not do any asthetic changes up top. They rip away from the hood easily because of the upward force of the hood if the latch or lanyard ever fails.

Here's a link to the ones I believe you are talking about:

WMS Stealth Hood Pins, billet, 05+ Mustang by Western Motorsports Inc.

+1 to acutal hood pins. I wouldnt trust anything that didnt actually go through the hood otherwise your just using the same thing as the factory latch. As for your Q 08. Drill the holes prior to painting but dont install the gromets or skirt. Once you get the holes in, get it painted, get it back, then put the gromets and skirts.

If you properly install ( not saying you did ) they should adj. down to the point where there is no possible way for the hood pins to come out. And the wires on E's car is his doing that set ( the shelby pins ) come with the wire that comes from under the hood, around the front, to the pins.

08, as fast said I just didn't want the wires dangling on my black paint, hard enough to keep it like it is let alone have the vinyl coating rubbing on there. Black shows every damn thing so I passed on using the cables..
