New Cobra Jet


what are your guys' thoughts on it? your $$ could prolly be better spent on a shelby, but would you shell out the cash for the drag/street tire combo?? it's a cool 70k and it looks like they're only producing 50 this go around, but i'm sure they'll make some more by popular demand.

That's interesting.


Either their hp is underrated or the car is lighter than the 3300 that they state. 10 seconds from 400 hp?

funny, they're saying it has the sc'ed 5.4 engine and is only pushing 400hp. guess that was at the wheels and detuned

haha those numbers are just keeping the folks @ the nhra happy i'm sure. i think someone somewhere also joked that the #s are just to keep GM + co out of the loop so we can come outta the gates swingin haha

Def should be more HP seeing that the engine sounds like the normal GT500 block... but you guys make some good points about the nhra

This has Don Bowles finger prints all over it. He and his son have been working with Roush and Ford for quite some time developing this engine.

And eveyone thought it was just a coincidence that Don Bowles and Jack Roush were fielding a Car in NMRA's Open Comp class. This is trickle down technology at its best.

And yes...that hp figure is a feel good number for the NHRA only.

I mean really....most real drag racers dont give a damn what hp number they're turning....its all about the ETs.

Very true.

But you don't turn 10's with 400 hp in a 3300 lb car. Even if it's rwhp.

Doesn't JDM's car turn 10's on a N/A motor around 400? Or DynoJoe's car? I know someones does but can't put my finger on it, have a lot going on right now in my life...
