The tolerences are off, sounds like the backlash but don't hold me to that. You need to take it back to the installer and have them redo it. It shouldn't make noise during coast.

Bring it back for sure. I had my 4.10's put in last week and they make no noise at all. Just as quite as the 3.55's that came out.

75 MPH I am around 2500-2600. 2900 at 80MPH. Just got back from a road trip, 84mph the whole way and averaged 21.3 MPG

Yep - definitely an install issue. FRPP gears are among the quietest gears you can get. But a crappy install can still make them howl.

Sir what was the cost of the gears them selves? Ya think Ford Racing would be a good choice?

I used the Ford Racing gears. From what I am told those are the gears of choice. I believe I paid $325 for the gears, which is a little high, but that is what happens at the Stealership.

matt I got an estimate from my dealership...$850 for labor alone.....like I'm gonna pay more than the gears and install kit cost combined just for the install.

Mine gave me a very high price to start, then I told them about the pirces I read about on here and they lowered it for me. You should try the same thing. I know that Ford Labor billing for the job is 3 hours and they shouldn't charge you more then that.

yeah he tried to say that it would take 8hrs and 30 minutes at $100 an hour. I was not buying that at all. So you bargained the stealership down right?
