You picked some good components.
As for the dynamat question, some people go over the top. My theory has always been if your showing the car for sound quality or SPL audio competitions, dynamat the entire interior as well as the trunk. If your just trying to make the car sound good for you - dynamat the trunk entirely and anywhere else that you find rattling or excessively vibrating. Basically pinpointing trouble spots. Your numerous other posts tell me you want a quick car too, remember a system adds lots of weight, your enclosure for 2 - 12's will be very heavy unless using fiberglass. Add in the dynamat and such and before you know it, you've added 200 to 250lbs of flab to your car. |

Dynamat isn't heavy if your using it sparingly, however when you do an entire interior of a car it adds significant weight.
It's commonly said that for every 100lbs you can eliminate you can gain 1/10 of a sec in the 1/4. To some that's okay. To others it is not. I just brought it up, cause you were all about trying to get power like a GT in your v6. You can get dynamat in varied thicknesses, typically 3mm, it's rubber, and a trunk on a 05-07 mustang will use 26 to 30 square feet of product to line the entire thing including deck lid and spare tire well. That amount of dynamat will come in around 11 to 13lbs. You could offset it by having a glass enclosure made.. All depends on how you want to set things up. Personally, I'd skip the dynamat. Only use it to deaden any real annoying trouble spots. Wood sub enclosures are made of heavy MDF, which will again add weight. |

fiberglass will net you about a 40% weight reduction, but it will also cost you to have it made..
I attached an enclosure I'm making for a young kid with a Solara. It's in spec for 2 audiobahn eternal 12's wants all SPL, so it's ported with a plexi face and neons inside. Nothing special here, basically a cube to fit right behind the rear seats. With the subs in, it weighs 117 lbs.

yea... when making custom boxes.. if your measurments are off my even 1/2 an inch.. it will make the subs sound like sh*t... (in ported boxes) which i would reccomend for your L5's

I still vote for the JL audio W7. Check out the thread about "your favorite subs" JL audio is by far the favorite. Also check out this setup: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthrea...=486721&page=2
thats 1 W7 and trust me from experience 1 JL W7 is plenty of bass. It feels like a back massager when you are sitting in the back seat. If you havent already bought your new subs I suggest JL audio. just my .02
