What is Real difference between 2005,2006 and 2007 GT's ?

I have a 2007 GT. Is this car exactly the same as 2005-06 ? I've heard rumors that the 05,06 had weaker brakes. Not sure. Any help here ?

I know the GT 500 came out in 2007. But given your post too. Does anyone know if the 05,06 and 07 Mustang v6 and v8 have any REAL differences ..in their models ? The v6's for that span, the GT for that span etc. I KNOW OTHERS HAVE WONDERED TOO.

Im wondering if my 07 GT "clearcoat Black" is different from the 06 "black". Im just surprised though that a company would only change just the color for 3 years. There must be more mechanically/engineering wise that we just don't know about.

mmmm?
Okay, Ford engineers. Let us know. 3 years and no change with engineering >? Not your style. Not with the Mustang, your flagship

I will find out when I get back to the states...I am going to arrange another dyno day in March...There will be a few 07's there...I would say they are the same as the 06...The 05 is the only one that suffered...

Its the same engine but i think the 05 had alot of issues...OPossibly a less agressive tune from ford as well...Hopefully one of the S197 gurus will swoop in here and help...

The engines are all the same and the brakes are all the same. You can get different dyno results on different engines even in the same year of production. Plus the 05 had a fume filter in the intake tube that 90% of 06s and all of the 07s don't have. The difference between each of the three years is small options.

06 added the 18" wheels for the GT (with supposedly special damping in the shocks) and the Pony Package for the V6.
Also in early 06 they changed the tail light harness...easier to hook up sequential tail lights now and they also removed the fume filter from inside the air inlet/breather pipe.
07 added the satellite radio and aux input for the ipod. 07 you have to pay $100 for the 3.55 rear in the GT where you got it for free in the 05 and 06. 07 also added the California package. Fleet car purchases for all three years are supposed to have tire pressure monitors, but I haven't actually seen one. There is a tire pressure symbol on your dash...hard to see since it's not lit up. Looks like the cut away of a tire with a slash through it.

There were color changes as well. You can no longer get sonic blue (changed to vista blue), screaming yellow or legend lime and 07 added the orange color. For 07 there is a black color and an alloy color that looks close to black...just look up your paint color code on your door sticker and you will know. It's a two digit code...my code for redfire is G2.

I can't think of anything else, but I may have missed one.

Very nice summary. Well done. There is also probably a laundry list of unpublished fix/changes that only internal ford would know about too. We do it with software all the time ;o) I think what we are seeing is more refinement here. Each subsequent year should be a little better as they shake out the problems. The 2008's should be even better. Im hearing the 2009 body/style change has been pushed to 2010 though with Fords recent $ woes.

the 2007 gt is 300 hp slightly higher than 2006-5 my uncle works for ford as an engineer and it gets about 290hp that is rw where 05-06 is 260-270

The big difference is color options, wheel options, styling options, the battery is smaller in the 2006/07 than it is inthe 2005. Also in the engine cooling systems. In 2005/06 there was one inlet and one outlet on the top of the engine. On the 2007 there is only a single top side radiator hose.

How can you tell if the car came with that 3:55 gear ratio? Mine is an 07 gt 5 speed manual, and i thought that all the manuals came with the 3:55 in them.
