I love the pro on my other stang but, by all means if you can afford the turbo, it will eat the others up.

suspension is huge....you dont need as much horsepower to get those times if you have a good suspension set up. getting the power to the ground is what matters most. horsepower is worthless if you are just burning your tires off

i'd say getting the power to the ground is all in width and tires but thats a debate i'd rather not start

just think about how a car launches off the line and how the weight transfers and try to say suspension isnt important in that. yea tires help but suspension plays a big part in launching a car

i would say go whipple if you are just looking to fuck around with friends.it will pull real hard down low. but either of the choices will make a ton of power

if i were you id get a LOW boost unless your doing your internals for a s/c

but if you wana beat all your friends turbo for sure

and yes suspension can help a LOT! but look at what i said earlier...fastest car on DRs had stock suspension

of course about 2000+hp helps

and i deffinitly recommend a suspension upgrade after FI

yes, the whipple is a great kit, even for the automatics. so is the saleen kit. there's really nothing you need to do more to the transmission. the transmission is all in the tuning. the stock automatic trans I belive can handle up to 450HP if I'm not mistaken or possibly a tiny bit more. I know some guys running the Saleen S/C from JDM Performance (stage 2 kit) and putting roughly 450HP for almost a year with no problems, and they have beaten up a few times at the track.

and don't feel bad about people calling you a pussy for the auto. but ya know what. some people don't know how to drive sticks and some people can't drive a clutch due to an injury or some sort. my co-worker, 49 years of age, loves cars like a passion. his specialty is all those import sports cars (honda s2000, acura nsx, etc.). he would love to sit behind the wheel of a manual again, but unfortionately he developed arthritis in his left foot. he told me at times it was very very difficult to push a clutch in with his foot. so now he drives automatics. nothing he could really do. would he get made fun of for it, possibly, but its not his fault. its his excuse why he can't drive a stick.

I am actually amazed by the new transmission in the mustangs and how just a few adjustments in the tuning of the transmission really wakes it up and makes it come alive without hesitation or lag. so don't feel so bad.

saleen or whipple are two fine kits to NOT DRAG as you mentioned and to play around with your friends.

pick up the March issue of MM&FF. read the article on page 118. a paxton S/C and the Hellion turbo. look at the dyno numbers. if you are an auto and going turbo then your in better shape than with a manual. your always in boost. I purchased an auto because i knew i was going turbo. you wont need any mods for a turbo for what you want. as far as lag there is no lag in turbos. here is an old video this should speak for itself.
