I used a 1/4 ratchet to tighter up the top starter bolt. Had no problems

I leave the starter in and raise the motor high enough to slip them in.

They were kidding about denting the kooks, they're fitment is great.

Hey guys I know I'm rising this thread from the dead but how the hell you rise the freaking motor to install the kooks LT's?

With a jack. Piece of wood or something between the jack and the oil pan.

Just like that? Wouldn't that bend the oil pan? Don't I have to loose some bolts before that?

just take off the two motor mounts. the engine and trann ywill move up together.....there is play there, watch you dont put your tranny into the bellhousing, I broke off my breather tube doing that

That's supposed to be common sense..

You can raise it by the oil pan, but if on your back under the car, the jack will be in the way. You can leave the jack in the front, out of the way by raising the motor either at the balancer or right on the front edge of the oil pan. Get a piece of wood that just fits on that edge and raise the motor.
