I don't know for sure, TD, but I know when I launch mine hard with the tcs off, it gets sideways in a hurry, so until we find out, I would have to guess yeah

I did my own little test today and I think it may be. I was coming up my hill to my house with TCS off and I purposely drove the car with the left tires in the snow/ice and the right on the dry pavement. I accelerated like the ice/snow wasn't even there. Now, on normal cars, you do the same thing and the wheel on the snow would spin while the other tire doesnt..the differential would break loose the tire with the least amount of resistance. This is called a limited slip differential, I believe.

I have mine put away for the winter, but now that I think of ot, I got caught in the first snow of the year just as I was getting home, and it did seem to me that it behaves like a posi as I was trying to get her rolling from a stop on snow covered roads *EDIT*
I just found this as well: Got Posi? 'V6 Mustangs have 7.5″ open differentials stock, and all Modular engine GT, Bullitt, Mach 1, and Cobra Mustangs have an 8.8″ posi-trac differential stock.'

I can tell you this...when I turn off the TCS and hit second hard it leaves two long black marks on the highway, not one .

Well Unzip , funny you should mention my garage, lol, I haven't found room in my garage to actually fit a car in the 30 years I've had a garage. I planned on throwing all kinds of stuff out when I got the mustang but.....just never found time yet. I been busy putting in a pool, building a brick paver deck around my pool, building a waterfall, and hooking up a hottub, and getting a screen enclosure put up...when I finish that , the garage is next. Specs...06Gt with a roushcharger, Shaker hood scoup brings cold air directly into the s/c, flowmasters and "69 mach I stripes with a blacked out hood and hoodpins and a chin spoiler , 5 speed.
Take care...Norm

Nice ride indeed Norm
I wish I could afford the supercharger (see the sticker price on my car here in Canada in my new car thread lol), but as for garage, I meant why not have her in the garage here on the site? lol However, I feel your pain on the too much stuff in a garage.....I actually have mine put away in a fully enclosed car shelter, due to no garage lol.....

Unzip....LOL about the garage I never heard of...kinda embarrassing. I sure hope that sticker is written in canadian dollars and not a tax for importing it. If it's canadian that would put it at around 28,600 which is about right. If they taxed you that much I'll be sure to send you some preparation H

Just click on the garage link, and you can make a cool little page about your ride, and then the link to your car shows up under your join date. The sticker is written in canadian dollars, but as I get paid in canadian dollars, it still hurts. Did I mention 14% sales tax on top of that? I await my preparation H. lol

To bad this is such and old post i actually could answer a question on here. posi-trac was GM's brand name for it's limited slip differential back in the day. Like zerox for copiers. I forget what ford and dodge called theirs but they had their own name. So hell no my ford does not come with positrac. But they do come with 3.31 limited slip differentials or an optional 3.55 limited slip ratio, which i got on my 07. So if what your really askin is will both tires dig? hell yea.

Damn Luis, that's harsh. I thought we had it bad here in Canada. I also had to pay 14% tax on my 37 grand, did you also have tax on top of that price, Luis ?

nope, no tax since we are already screwed with the importing... and the import price also depends on the MSRP of the car...
a Scion TC is worth 16K in the US, here its worth 21K (5K for importing) while my stang was 8K. And Tax here started about 6 months ago, before that we didn't pay tax for anything, just importing fees. It sucks... I ussually only ended up with 3 or 4 pennies in my pocket, now I get quarters, nickels, blah, blah thanks to the new 7% tax |

Yes, the GTs have the 8.8 w/Trac Lok, V6 has it as an option, I think (not a v6 expert...lol) If you want to test it out, and not burn rubber, jack your rear on your car up off the ground, and spin the tires by hand. An open diff will let one spin one way, the other spin the opposite. Limited slip will let one spin one way, and the other will start spinning that way after a few rotations. Full Posi, or Trac Lok will spin both tires the same way. Posi sucks in slick stuff, I miss my 4x4 in that crap, lol
