Want your opinion!

Ever since I bought my Mustang I have been on a mission to transform the car from a straight line who cares what it does car to something truly worth the money. I know that a mustang is not a road racer type of car and that I could of saved myself lots of money staying with my Audi but I want a V8 with potential. So here is what I have done over the last six Months. When I got th car I was going to wait a few months and buy the Cervini full body kit but a racoon changed that for me. So I ordered the Roush front fascia along with cervini upper and lower scoops. I also had the car refinished making it shine far more than factory. When I got the car back it looked great (minus no wheels) Well I started t ave probems with the scoops and so I finally took them off and sold them on EBAY.

So a few months go by and I hadn't done anything to the car, so with a friend of mine I decided to take of the mufflers and hear what it sounds like. I loved it so much they havent been back on in two months!!! (you would be surprised how use to the sound you get...its not loud anymore) So that got me going again. I got the Roush Spoiler and a set of American Racing Wheels on my car. Finally the car is taking shape but I cant stop...

Here is my schedual over the next 4 months...my budget is around $1,600 a month!

Febuary:
BMR Lowerinng Package $500
Tokico Shocks and Struts $545
SLP Loud Mouth Exhaust Tips $330
Hurst Short Shifter $200 (gift)
Ignition button in center consol $100

March:
Ignition button in center consol $100
Shelby Hood $825

April:
Baer Big Break Kit $2,500

May:
Corbeau FX1 $600 (pair)
Brackets $200 (pair)
Rear Seat Delete $275

When Warranty Runs out:
Kenne Bell 2.6L 10psi $6,000
Sound of Speed double Pillar $119
Plus other engine mods

What do you guys think? Let me know if I should do it in a different order add a modification or delete a modification. I want your feedback, I value what you guys have to say so let me have it GOOD OR BAD!

Dude, you have Audi on the brain. I've always hated Audi. Please stop w/ the Audi crap. This is an American auto and site. The USA is the best engineering on earth. You don’t believe it? Just have a hard look at USA ingenuity for last 100 years. Military, aircraft, etc... Start looking more at the motor on your stang.. the modds are sick for what you can get. Your little Audi will wish it was back in Europe.

I hate to tell you this but when it comes to engines, suspension, tires, and everything else...the europeans have out done us. Please look at history...we have nascar, indy, and a bunch of other crap...Europeans have F1, Autocross, Drifting in Japan...Plus you had to hit my hot button....an american 5.4L supercharged engine generates nothing in the horsepower, torque, or quality of over sea's cars....next time you want to take your car to the open track and race let me know...because anybody can take a car down a track running above 10's....take what you have and run it on a race track and you will see how much of a pathetic driver you really are. Takes talent to take more than a left turn for 3 hourse or just shift a car down a straight stripe....Do you even know how to heel toe or match rpms going into a corner....Next time you are at the drag stripe...anyone can run down the lanes....go to a SCCA event and you will see who can drive and who cant...doesnt matter how much power you have....its how you use it...

P.S. You should learn to appreciate other forms of cars, maybe it will help you next time you want to make a modification to your car...

I don’t agree, and I hate NASCAR. Look, USA engineering is superior, I have owned 3 Honda Autos b/4 this and I was very happy w/those cars. I also had 2 BMW's and they were terrible for problems. I now have Ford #4 and the total $ for ownership is far less than that of the imports. Again, look in the US past and see what the hell we are good at...everything engineering. You are trying to solidify a European mass attitude of US engineering being weak. Not so

Nice. I read it. Good read. You must remember, F1 and NASCAR are very controlled. You can only have xyz for CID on their(NASCAR) engine and weight etc.. Same goes for F1. It's like comparing apples to mangos.

The only thing I see as a potential issue is the Kenne Belle 2.6L supercharger. The 2.6L requires VAST modifications to the engine and supporting systems in your car, such as vastly upgraded fuel supply, a dyno tune (the 2.6 does not come with one), bumping up the idle to at least 1500 last time I checked.... it's a very very big investment just to get the supporting systems for it. If you want a bolt on supercharger, go with the 2.1L. I think you'd be more than happy with it, and you can still get a huge amount of power with 9PSI, and is 2 minutes and a pulley away from 14PSI once you do the necessary upgrades.

dblind, you have a sweet looking ride bro. You mentioned having the car refinished, I'm assuming you had the car repainted? Just wondering who did it, and what was done to it,as it looks fantastic. Rick

Also, dblind, could you possibly post up a full side shot of your car, so I can show my wife what the black Stang looks like with the black rims? tx

American vs. European vs. Japanese engineering is a no-win argument. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. A lot of the German/European manufacturers have reliability problems. Japanese auto makers put use tiny engines that you have to modify in every way possible to make them hold power, but they do hold the power. American builders still make some of the most unique automobiles (let's face it, all Jap cars look alike anymore, compare a Camry to a Mazda 6/Nissan Altima). And American builders like big displacement engines because that's what they've been using for decades, and they sell!

As far as the car, I'd have to agree. Unless you want to do major engine mods, I'd go with either the smaller displacment blower, or a different kit. Possibly one with a better set-up. Who knows, when the time comes for you to actually order a blower, there might be something completely different out. Shop around, get input from owners who have these kits installed. Make an educated decision, and good luck with it all.

I agree with you guys...I was thinking about it and I want the horsepower for the car but I dont want to stress the engine...here is what I was thinking. Everyone on her says you have to redo your internals to run anything higher than 10psi...what does that consist of?

Also I am going to put long tube headers, stage 2 blow by racing cams, o/r x-pipe, and a set of underdrive pullies before I put the blower one...That should put me in the 350 to 400 bhp area...

What else do I need for the engine to run higher boost and get the mileage out of it?
