Saleen S302 extreme finally dynod

There was a lot of speculation that the new Saleen S302 Extreme dyno'd very high, around 550rwhp. Saleen advertises 620hp at the crank. I never believed it because Saleen has always been a little too optimistic with their numbers...not overly impressed...

Rediculous torque curve though...450rwtq at 2500rpm!!

Looks like the A/F could handle some tweeking to get a few more ponies.

It looks like it dynoed 30 HP lower to the crank than Saleen advertises- not bad.

But if the 550rwhp thing is true then that's disappointing.

Ya, the tune is very conservative...look at the afr, 10.0 flat...put a little more fuel in the tune and you have a decent amount more power

Pretty conservative. I bet it'd be a good daily driver.

I know you meant less fuel. My afr pegs at 10.0 as well... keep in mind too, a wideband can't read below 10.0 so who knows what it's at for sure??? There's ALOT left on the table... That's about as conservative as you can get without fouling plugs...lol.

It keeps the cylinder temps down though!!!

How is that so? I thought the 08 S302E had 620 hp at the crank and it only dynoed at 501 rwhp. or am I missing something? I would want at least 550 at the wheels. All that money and it only has 20 more HP than mine. I would be disappointed.

well either it lost alot of power through the driveline or their claimed numbers are off.......like steve saleen's hair.

If they would re-design the CAI tube it would make a lot more HP and the tune looks like it needs work too.
Adam with ST Motorsports made a custom CAI for my car and here's the results.

Air filter is located behind the bumper.

Car did make 447rwhp/425tq - no print out. Is in video.
