I like the saleen, I think it is the best looking SC out there. Thats what I would have installed if the car I bought diidn't already have a whipple. Unless you are building 700 hp car the differences in the two is not that big. Yea the edelbrock it a little more efficent but its not that big of a deal on a 500hp street car. Just my opinion.

Damn...shoulda posted a poll. What are the boost limitations of each, while still being "efficient?"

I think it's fair to say that the Saleen can run around 16-17 lbs. The TVS can't run too much more, maybe 1 or 2 lbs more. Not anything notable, IMO.

I think the Saleen stops being efficient past 15, maybe 16psi...they have been spun up to 18psi but most likely overspun..

Yeah, I think Brenspeed told me the saleens are good up to 15psi back when I was shopping for a blower. I'd think the TVS would be at least 2 or 3 psi more. At least.

Both of them hit a 'wall' around around 16-18 lbs.

I thought the TVS would have at least a limit similar to a KB. I've seen KB guys running 18-20psi.

KB uses a twin-screw design. You can google the main differences between the two. Once you hit about 18,19,20 PSI on the TVS it starts generating a lot of heat without a really good return on power...so like Nasty says, you could say you are hitting a wall with it. On the KB blower, it is still pretty efficient at that boost level, and in fact you can spin it into the low 20 PSI range and still not make too much heat. Thus, if you need more than 18-20 PSI it is best to purchase a twin-screw ala Whipple or KB (assuming you don't want centris or turbos)

IMO, if youre gonna run over 18-20psi, you should go turbo or centri

the Saleen blower is a twinscrew too but its a smaller one then KB or whipple. I was just kinda surprised that the TVS blowers aren't as good at higher psi because I thought they were bigger blowers in general.

I thought the saleen blower was a 2.3 liter and uses a Whipple compressor.
