I installed Mac L/T and their O/R prochamber last week. I still have the stock mufflers and after hearing how good the car sounds, I will keep them. I did not do a before and after dyno the same day, I should have. The last time I had the car dyno tuned the temp was 30 degrees and the humidity was 22%. I had the car dyno tuned last weekend, the temp was 64 degrees and the humidity was 94%. That being said I picked up 11 RWHP and 18 ft lbs of torque. However, the torque below 2,200 RPM's was down. I believe the weather variance accounted for another 5-10 HP.

It depends on the style of header, but with most you will loose some down low. True long tubes move the power ban farther up in the RPM's. Kooks or Mac will likely not loose you a whole lot down low because they are more of a mid-length header than a true long tube like say BBK or American Racing and such.

I had a minimal loss down low, but the overall sound and mid-upper rpm gains more than make up for it.

you will lose low end torque.. due to lack of back pressure.. but you will gain up top! so it is worth it. you will also get pissed trying to fit those suckers in there lol

You don't lose torque or power, you gain torque and power. You just shift the torque curve to higher in the RPM's range. I don't know why that is such a hard concept to understand.

OK so I have heard all of the horror stories about the header installs but is it really that bad? I’m kinda scared to get them!

If you have someone helping you thats done it before then it shouldn't be too bad. It took me a couple days to do it, but I was basically doing it myself

easy turbo, its not hard to understand. but they need to realize that by moving the torque curve the car is going to drive different...so by moving the hp and torque curve UP...you lose it down low.

I know Stroker Boy, it's just that the way everybody states it that gives the impression that they are going to be a dog off the line when they actually gain a bunch of torque under the curve.
It's kinda like people saying that you will be able to stop faster with bigger brakes without upgrading tires. Or losing traction with 4.10's and a supercharger.

The install took me 12 hrs and I did most of it by myself, with just 2 jack stands and a jack. They are a tight fit, but give yourself a couple days to install and all will be OK. There are 1000 threads on the install for all different LT brands with excellent advice. When you get done, you will pick up power, a solid exhaust sound, and more pride for your car where you do it yourself. Not to mention more $$$ in your pocket for not paying an installer.

I will do it myself I couldnt live with myself if I let someone else do it! Just trying to pump my self up for it. i still have some time I dont have the funds yet and there are several things i want to do at the same time so I can just get it dyno tuned one time. The LTs should really help me out a lot since i have whipple!
